Attempting to make a pattern like this.

So far, here's what I've got:
http://gyazo.com/74afaa490fdf1ec1c379...1344370593

I'm new to this, just started reading up on the wiki. Though if there's an easier way to do this and I'm not seeing it, could someone please fill me in? I'd really appreciate it! Would be easiest if I could just import a huge pattern, but it looks like I can only use the built in stuff? With all the crazy stuff I've seen I'm sure there's a way to do this, I just haven't figured it out yet.

Notes:
Didn't change the red color out yet to b&w, so don't mind the red hue
The noise layers aren't important, unless they are. They are meant for the final product, but I can't get the tiles to work out.

Sorry I can´t help you to solve this but can help show what you want to do

In the image link the last thing can ONLY be the extension of the image

So far my best result, but still not close:

EDIT:
Looks pretty good so far. Could use more tile variation, but I have no idea how.

If you want to use more than 2 Tile components, you are better to use a Switch component and connect all Tiles to this Switch. If you are using the same color controls for all Tiles, you might use the same color control for all Tiles, just connect your first color control to the others. smile:)

Thanks for the reply Ghislaine. How do I attach the tiles/pavement to the Switch? It won't let the connector connect to it.

Also another question, I can't find information on the wiki on how to get seamless tiling to work, is there a way to do this?

Here's an image of my stuff if it helps:

For the seamlessly, just click under the result and you will see if it is seamless or not if you can chack the seamless, it is ok for the seamlessly. And when you create a filter, it appears on your screen of the editor if this can or cannt be seamless.

You just have to connect each tile... listen, I will show you with a file, I come back soon

Yeah, my seamless is shaded out, thus why I asked about it. I just want to know how to enable it, or fix what I messed up causing it.

That´s because you added a non-seamless component like Scale for example. You can force-enable it under Filter > Overrides... > Seamless Tiling > enabled but it won´t always work.

Here a ffxml file as example. Just study it with its settings. As said, it is a basis to help you. Just copy the file in your hard disk or the folder you want and then click on the file and this will go to the My filter folder and you can localize it when you open FF. Close your FF before installing the ffxml file.

As I have 3 Tile components, I add an Intslider fixed to 3 and connected to Selector and add a name on this control. Always as exemple. See the color control how I did.

Tiles.exemple.ffxml

I only have FF2.0. File won't work. I found the correct Switch (I was using the curve one, woops).

The Switch tool as far as I can see just allows me to switch to a different tile-set whenever I want, it doesn't combine them in a way to make the complex pattern I showed above. Either that or I don't understand it yet.

I'm not too worried about getting the square shape any more detailed anymore, I seem to have done alright in getting it where I need it. Unless there is a way to make it like the first picture without going through some mental trickery.

The only issue I'm having now, is knowing how to make a specular/bump map. No idea how to do that.

I think what you´re looking for is the multiblend smile:-)

For the maps, you need to change the filter from simple to surface in the Result component. Then you can connect height/specularity maps.
