In eternal pursuit for unusual ways to input information, here's something possibly interesting. You may recall the multiple input through Bezier curve control introduced as a method of inputting multiple values in one go.

In the same vein, if you arrange the inputs in groups, an additional benefit will emerge: You will be able to change multiple values at the same time.

Take a look at the attached filter (in V4).

A single Bezier Curve input has been used to control the X and Y coordinates, the radiuses and the transparency of four separate circles. Which is fine and well and not really anything new. But open the Bezier Curve control and select the first four points (marquee-type drag will do it easiest) and then move the "Y Offset" slider. All four circles move at the same time along the X axis. Similarly, if you select the last four points and drag the "Y-Offset" slider, the transparency of all four change at the same time. And it all happens relative to their current values.

Of course you can select just one, two or three of the points and change the values for that number of objects.

While setting up and using the Bezier Curve Control is not the most intuitive of way to control things, the benefit of being able to change several values simultaneously may come handy in some occasions.

To clarify the function of the filter, the Y-positions of the Bezier Curve are used as the control values. The first four points are the X positions, next four the Y-positions, third set of four point are the radiuses and the last set of four points are the respective transparency values. (The Y-coordinates are in reverse with 0 at top and 1 at bottom).

If you arrange the controls in this way -- with all the controls of the same type next ot each other -- it makes it easier to use them for simultaneous control of the same aspects of a number of different elements.

If you accidentally (or purposely) move the Bezier points on the x-axis, they will no longer work properly, as the Lookup component expects them to be at those exact x-positions.

Can make rigged filters with this. I recall doing similar stuff in Maya. Rigged up a ramp to change 200 elements in the scene smile:p
