Not sure if someone has done this or wants to accept a challenge but I was thinking on what kind of filter might be useful that I haven't seen and long story short thought of the perspective grid. Years ago I found this free Flash component that might give some ideas http://www.27bobs.com/stuff/perspectiveGrid.html (you can drag the vanishing point in this one).

Basically it would be good to move the vanishing point(s) and print out a perspective grid. I poked around a bit but figured I'd ask or see if anyone has tried this and hasn't posted it or wants to try it as a challenge. smile;)

Here are two efforts but not ideal and the grids don't match if you change the image size to a non-square size (like most drawing paper would be).

I'm going to keep poking at this. Other grids that it would be good to generate might be isometric.

Maybe you can use what Morgantao have done to create perspective 3D room

Camera Perspectiva by Morgantao (make a room with your own images)

To get the grid you can use grid images as shown by Morgantao

BUT this filter does not have infinite depth in the background, so maybe you would probably prefer to use one of the Voldemort´s many creations, for example

box wild perspective by Voldemort

Then you can use the morgantao or Voldemort filters above mixed with any of this two filters below to be able to get the grid you want

Very interesting subject ! I'm creating a bedroom set : 3d furnitures ! Profil gradient for the furnitures perspectives. But what I see here in this thread, it is much better for installing furniture in the bedroom !

Burt, still keeping poking at this. smile:)

Here a sample of a bedside table

Burt don't know if you have messed with loops yet but...It is possible with loops...Here is an unfinished loop for the perspective box...Still need the other lines on this one....Can be used for non-square as well....You can even move the vanishing point...

@SpaceRay thanks for the suggested filters to look at.
@Ghislaine maybe when you are done with the furniture you will create a 'room generator' that will populate with your furniture. smile:)

Actually the perspective idea came in part from me thinking of isometric game design in Flash and how you have to layout the grid angle just right so that if different artists create items (furniture etc) when you drop multiple items in as individual symbols they are at the right angle and orientation so they 'match.' With all the users here on the forums generating stuff as you are it would be cool if there were some grids, and maybe even agreed on basic 'styles' that would allow different people to create filters that could generate items that could be used together in a common 'world.' Anyway too much info but that is how my brain works. smile:)

@CFandM thanks so much for taking the time to create this sample; I do much better with simple barebones examples to get the basic concepts down so really appreciate it. For some reasons I recreate the loops I have seen by copying, think I have it, but when I try to actually create my own loops in a little more complex filter I get all, well, loopy. :/

I know I rarely tinker with FF any more let alone am on the forums but fate just had me stumble upon this post
I just submitted a new version of the box wild perspective that allows you to shift the focal point any where using a vertical & or horizontal offset while retaining the full functionality of the original
lets all whine for a wine port
