Hello!
I am new here.  I got Filter Forge today. I have created a filter with controls and all, without even looking up for help. I think it is good for being first proper filter. (no the filter doesn't contain images)
I am still fiddling with it.
My first adverse is that I did not know how to get the initial preview working, it complained about not being connected. But then I realized I have to drag-drop onto it and then it works.  |

I wish that many of the components have a basic thumbnail (not even preview, just a thumbnail) even if it would not always be true. For example for the math part, curve ops etc...

I am learning by looking at other filters and I am creating something I want and I am closing on my goal.

Yes I would like for you to do so, if it is the most suitable one.
I added eyes to my stars, but I am not entirely happy with how the "black" of the eyes (I would like that to be recoloarble to get like red eyes so have it in mind)get tinted. As well as the glint dots should be white AND being correct orientation no matter the rotation of the stars themselves.... >_<;
Yes using Bomber component.
I even tried to use two bomber components and blend but then the eyes would be overlaid even on the stars that should be behind other stars. haha.
But this is so fun!!!  |

Looks like you are off to a very good start...Stars are just stars but add the eyes then you got some fun....

Thanks. Maybe I should create a new thread with proper questions.
I have added so many controls now.. And borders. border width, border on/off, eyes on/off...
still annoyed about the coloring issue (tinting over everything)  |

I know "Jack of all trades" fail, but I am adding features.
But now I am going back to change the eyes to be only one color and also having mouth and maybe 3 different sets of "emotions". |

As long as the things you add don't attempt to do a ton of things falls out the scope of the filter itself, it's not as jack of all trades as it seems. It's more like if there are too many controls... then it gets too much.

Oh yes, oh yes, there's so many controls.. but still in scope! maybe not the backgrounds. Well. I will make it how I like it, right?
Also the chaos control, I want good control, right? So whoops 4 more controls there!
But I found about the custom ordering of the controls so I rearranged by what these control and named them more specific.
Made the emotions better, two finished. One to go. (frown with squinted eyes)
The stars can be flowers too!
I used Median for the softening of edges (the curve edges). Do you think this is the best choice for this matter? I tried blurring and threshold but it made it uneven looking with blobs etc.  |
