Many times I thought that it would be useful to have separation lines or words/titles to ins ert among the controls for grouping them and making easier for the user to understand what to do.

Today I got a simple idea based on the system used by FF to write the control names in the settings.

FF sets all values of the controls on a column.
Then, starting fr om the left side of this column, it writes the names of these same controls.
The result is that, differently from what we generally do ( because our writing system is from left to right ), the first letters of every control name are not on the same line ( except if all the controls names have the same number/size of characters )

You can easily see it here :

Glow Color starts a bit before than Side Color, much after than Glow Brightness, etc. But they all end on the same line.

Well, I thought to use this characteristic.
If we add some character ( underscore, minus, etc. ) after the control name, we can move the line wh ere the control name starts.
This allows us, if we want, to put 2 controls on a line, other 5 on another line, and so on, creating smaller "groups" inside the settings.
We can also se t the first control of every group to start a bit before, or put them as steps.

Here is an example of what I mean :

The "1 Blend", "2 Blend" controls work as index for all "1" and "2" controls.
The "1A Zoom", "1B Zoom", etc. work as index for all "1A", "1B", etc. controls.
This makes easier for our eyes to see a particular area of controls.
It is made simply adding characters not used in the controls names.

Maybe other people already did the same but, because I have never seen it in other filters, I thought it could be good to share it.

A good idea, truly. Whether this--- or that>>>, it definitely helps. This was also a good way to name filters before there were folders (using 1A, 2B, etc). smile:)

Thanks Xirja. I'm thinking to change the controls names in all my filters ( or at least in the filters that have more than 10-15 controls ), adding those --- or >>> to put them in a better position.
