Rick Duim has showed and published his amazing and awesome work using the wallpaper groups, and I have seen that there are similar designs that can be used as inspiration with these other Quilt Designs that is shown how the patterns are built

The attached example will give you an idea of how complicated quilting can be. Then the question is, to use these as masks, or tile seeds, or create fabric like patterns to place in the quilt blocks. Maybe some day
