Is this image a photograph or a rendering? I love the colors. I think it is achievable, but it looks like there is some shading involved, so some work for passionate filter tweakers smile:hammer:

So this is a similar effect I threw together in a few minutes, it would still need quite some work. I used the image that you provided to sample the colors from (Spending time to just recreate this colorful palette of the image would be a task on its own!)

The trick is to combine multiple bomber components in FF, feed the particle sizes with noises and it gets pretty close to what it is in the image. But, the last 20% to make it look right are the other 80% of the work...

I could never get the blur out of the Bomber version... so I tried a version with Bomber+. Still experimental and can be better, but here is what I have so far.

Thank you raabix and Rick Duim.
BallWrap is good but it must be in one plane. I see nested circles smile:?:

Using Bevel makes the result blurry unless you put something solid behind it. That's why I am trying this with Bomber+, where I have more control over the particles. Here's the latest modification.

It must have taken a lot of time just to stuff and sew each piece individually, forget connecting them!

Notice how the "circles" are not really circles. They sort of take a polygon shape when you squish them together. Like soap bubbles. That's what I went for.

How? Using my filter in this thread, with a few modifications.

when I have seen this example I was going to say that it was not possible to do it because I have already asked for something similar as was not possible, but seems that raabix and Rick duim have done it

Raabix well done the ballwarp filter

RICK DUIM EXAMPLE

Rick Duim I can't believe what I am seeing on the image you have put above, Is this really a non-overlapping very tight joined and packed 3D spheres? I mean if you change the settings all the spheres keep without overlapping themselves?

Love much how the spheres get very well the source colours, and how there are many different sizes that gives a great depth and movement

Thanks Indigo Ray, there are some very interesting techniques that I definitely need to check out. I never found the time to spend a couple of dedicated hours to get to know the bomber, but it is a really powerful tool. I find the most difficult part of the filter is the transition of smaller and bigger circles that are present in the real-world example. This definitely needs some creative blending of multiple bombers like I started in my example, but it is not fully there yet.

Thanks SpaceRay for your comments. The filter should be out tomorrow as a FF 6 filter. rabbix you can see what I did with the 4 Bomber+ components. Ran into some technical issues, but found a suitable workaround.

YES, I want to see HOW have you done it and see if I can understand it and know more about it.

Also I wonder if it is only possible to use spheres or could be used also triangles with gradients or cubes?

Very nice. You've got the deformations going on. This has turned out to be a fun topic.
