Hello All,

I am using the Image component and I would like to increase the resolution of an image within a filter.

The Scale component does not appear to do this, although I probably don't fully understand how to use it.

Plugging the Image component into a Scale component and setting the scale to 2 will scale up the image by a factor of 2. This won't effect the canvas resolution. If you want to change the canvas resolution, select File - New Image (or in FF10: Image - Blank). You can then load in an image with the Color Control -component (check Allow Images and then Load Image under the Color menu). This way you can work with any resolution of your choice.

Emme, yes, Using the Color Control component does work for me
Thanks for your help

Its odd there is not a more direct way to do this.

Since I don't specifically care about the image quality, this will work.

If I did care about the results rather than just increasing the number of pixels, it might be good to have a specialized component to choose the sampling method, nearest neighbor, linear, cubic, bicubic etc.

I suppose it is assumed people will be using Photoshop or other app for this, so maybe its not critical.

Well... not that odd. This is both a plugin and a standalone app. So as a plugin a fixed pixel size is what you would expect. As a standalone program, it is a bit annoying, but it works with the color control so it could be worse smile;-) ...

In FF 10 there is a new component: Bitmap Cache. It provides filtering options, anti-aliasing options, downscaling, and caching. Close to what you were asking for.
