Hi,

The name of this filter is ‘Glass Heart’. Here is the description:

This filter makes glass hearts. It has two modes; the first mode is for making glass ornaments or embellishments, and the second is for framing. There are three sizes; the small size is suitable for displaying an individual item such as a favorite pet while the larger sizes could be used for larger items like a loving couple. This filter may be valuable for scrapbooking. There are four preset colors; ruby, amber, topaz and emerald. The width of the frame (or ornament) can be varied as can the amount of surface reflection and translucence.

I really learned a lot making this one. I have a much better idea of how some of the various surface maps work. I feel like there is a lot of room for improvement though and I hope someone will take an objective look with that in mind. Any comments or suggestions regarding design or function would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ron

Doh! Forgot to add the clear mode – I worked it out first then forgot all about it. Here is a new copy with a couple of clear presets. I will update the site after the first one posts.

ron,

just a tiny sort of off-topic remark: why don't you post your filters in the 'user gallery' section along with some example images (which are almost guaranteed to spur more interest than a plain ffxml file). smile:)

The user gallery is a more appropriate spot for posting work-in-progress, and 'traditionally' is the place for comments, whereas 'creating filters' is more about troubleshooting.

Hi Crapadilla,
My thinking on that was that the users would be unlikely to provide the kind of nuts and bolts type of feedback I felt like I needed at this stage. I thought about posting in both forums, even from the first day, but I decided it would be rude and that I should choose.
I will take a look at the user’s forum and post new filter announcements there.

Ffxml files plain? I had no idea smile:?:

Thanks for the suggestion,
Ron

Hi Ron~

If you don't want to compose an image in a very simple way ... post a screen shot. ((Tutorials on the Internet)) if you have not used that function before.

Best way is to post the screen shot as a sneak peak and don't post the ffxml file. A..N..T..C..I..P..A..T..I..O..N.. is making me wait... now I'll have that song stuck in my head.

I've found that mixing in a few jokes to keep them happy while viewing filter work helps too. smile:D ((Yes I know I'm soooo devious)). LOL

Jean

P.S. Your filter ROCKS!~ Could use for tubes, stamps, etc. Very useful filter.

Hi Jean,
I posted a request for comments in the users section. I will have to just see how it goes.
As for joking, the last joke I tried got my entry disqualified from a Photoshop contest. Has no one heard of Andres Serrano? smile;) Anyway, I think I will just lay low and try to make better filters.

Thanks for the advice,
Ron

Stamps - good idea, especially love stamps. There are a lot of love stamp collectors.
