Is there a way to create a "painting" filter, a bit like "Fantastic Machines (PaintEngine) or BUZZ.Simplifier (BUZZ.Stack)?

If so, where do I start?

Thanks for offering us to "play" with your tool!

Well, Filter Forge currently has no "painting" component comparable to the Buzz technology -- their tech is quite advanced and is based on serious image analysis. We even considered licensing it for use in Filter Forge.

Regarding your question -- look at my Comic Book and Pyramid Paint effects in "Creative", maybe the techniques I used there will be helpful for you.

vladimir,

i'm glad you said currently because that's one of the things i've been thinking about re FF, making it a full fledged graphic engine. and now i see you guys have been thinking about it also. i also noted in another thread where you said the company isnt looking to make any other new software, but rather to concentrate on FF to make it the best plugin factory out there. so, it would seem you guys are thinking about long term turning FF into something even more spectacular. i think this is a very good idea.

the possibilities are pretty much endless. there have already been several requests for more 3d user friendly type features. i've mentioned morphing and still others have mentioned animation capabilities. i think i even saw something about adding a music feature in one of the threads smile:) i hadnt thought of this before but there's also the whole 'Movie Maker 2' type applications, which i've used. so, slideshows would fall into the possibilities as well. and that raises a whole new concept here... multi-frame and batch editing, not to even mention movie special effects, cgi type stuff.

i like where you're headed and i look forward to watching you grow.
