Edge Bumpmap filter

Hi, I recently submitted a filter called Edge Bumpmap, and it's been placed in the Unfinished category due to doubts of its usefullness.

Basically, the only real usefulness *I* found was using it to bumpmap blurred fonts, as it seemed to make a nice relief-chromish effect different then using normal bumpmapping.

The filter works by applying a bump-effect to a simple difference of gausian edge detection map, so it works slightly different then a normal bumpmap (the original idea was to create something that could be used as a subtle alternative to the normal bumpmap filter). Frankly it seems useful to me, but I'm not a professional so I wouldn't know for sure.
