Hi there,

I would like to create a photofilter that simulates the blurring and blending effects that occur when using a photocamera with open aperture (i.e. blurring effects in the back- or foreground with these typical lens flurs highlighting the
brighter spots when blurring...

You know what I mean I guess smile;)

For that you need two input-photos: The original photo you want to add the blurring/lens flare effects and second you need a depth-map that represents the
out ouf focus areas according to the distance. There is a simalar filter already included in Photoshop (in German its called "Verwackeln" - dont know the english term).

So me question: Is there a possibility to give two input photos in ff to create this effect more efficiently and with more variations to lens flares?

Maybe someone would like to try such a filter - I dont have an idea yet...

Thanks,
rilos
regards, rilos

no, there is current capability to input more than one image at a time. but, i submitted the same request quite a while back and it is on the list, i believe.

the real trick in what you're trying to do, is isolating the foreground. if you could accurately do that you wouldnt even need two inputs. the best i could get after hours and hours of work, was my 'color range extractor' filter. but, it depends on the colors and shades of an image all being in the same relative area for it to work accurately.

if we had point to point masking, we could do it with a single component in FF. but that's not likely to happen for a long while, if ever.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
