Hi together,
I just tried to submit a filter (which is technically correct) but the programm showed me, that there was no connection (when trying to logon). On the other hand I am logged in to the forum with the same user and password.
So where's the problem ?
Thanks a lot! regards, rilos

Please try again. Forum and submission credentials are the same. There is some server reconfiguration take place recently. Or it could be just a temporary connection down.

if you have ANY controls that have the red exclamation mark when connected to a component you will get the connection error when trying to connect to the FF servers. simply fix that problem and you can then send.
we were informed that this may change and that the error message is a bit odd and may well be changed. for the time being, just fix the red exclamation point and it shld be ok.
craig If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

@craig:
I had that problem before, but fixed it.
Now the filter is technically correct.
I have the same connection problem when trying to download any filters.
The message show :No connection to the filter library, make sure you have internet connection.
I'm logged on to the ff-forum on the other hand on the same machine, so I dont understand the problem.
Maybe the direct up- and download use a special port the the firewall doesnt let through. I cant change these settings tough.

You can change the connection settings in Tools > Options in the main menu.

tried that out, but none of the settings work
Think 'automatic' would be the best (as the settings are in the IE connection settings). I've no problem cennecting to the ff-site but the (direct) connection to the filter library from the ff-programm (stand alone) doesnt work.
Any other ideas ? regards, rilos

Rilos, I've forwarded this thread to the programmers, they will look into this. What kind of internet connection do you use, and what is your setup (any firewalls, proxies, etc)?

Thanks, Vladimir,
I use IE 6.0.
The connection settings are set to automatic detection.
We use a company proxy, and normally port 8080.
I dont have any problems connecting to the internet (includes this
website) but just the connection to the filter library via ff is not
possible.
We use a company-wide firewall (dont know the exact type and setting) and a local desktop firewall (BlackIce Real Secure Desktop Protector from Internet Security Systems). Maybe this prevents special connection trough standalone programms that are not listed somewhere.
Unfortunatly I'm not able to edit the settings of the firewall.
Will try this from home with other firewall.
thanks a lot,
regards, rilos
