Anyone know if there is a blendmode that does exactly this:

result = (foreground * background) + foreground

I can't tell from the descriptions..

That mode can easily be made with curves, but its slow..

Ok.. did a comparison of the correct curve calculations and the different blendmodes. Color Dodge at 43-44% with flipped foreground and background is the best match.. its not the same, but its close.

In case you wonder what I'm doing, this is for the illumination filter I'm working on. The transformed lightmap is combined with the diffuse input this way, i.e. 'multiply' to do combine the shadows, 'add' to combine the highlights

Hmm.. I was wrong.. I did the comparison test in photoshop and used the "Fill" slider at ~44%, not the Opacity... using the opacity slider doesn't work. The "Fill" slider seems to affect the strength of the blendmode in a smarter way smile:cry: (Vlad, can we have a fill slider? LOL)

Edit: Seems that the fill slider in PS lowers the intensity of the foreground - doing the same in FF works great smile:)
