Hey, all.

I'm trying to make a 'mac wallpaper' filter, and I've gotten this far:

But, of course, I used profile gradients, so if I use a 4x3 ratio, it blows up and looks like ass:

So, I either need to redesign it without the profiles (ack! help!) or I need to stretch it to fit the frame (doubleack! doubleHelp!)

Here's the filter. Thoughts?

(oh, and Uber, love the 'any angle gradient liek woah')

This is not that close to what you had but maybe it will give you some ideas. I used the 'Proportional Gradient' snippet. I had to loose the any angle. I replaced it with some blends but you can replace them with something better. You will need to tweak the curves and blends to get back the same color values. If I had more time I could get closer.
There will be a faster proportional gradient snipped by ThreeDee and uberzev that should post tonight that will speed it up.

It's a really nice filter, I hope you get it going. Good luck. smile:)

Ooo, that's nifty. Tone curve, huh? Hadn't thought of that...

::pokes at the guts of the filter::

I love how there's a Heart Of Darkness around where those components are stacked up. It's like they are giving off their own evil vibe.

I'll have to play with this more tonight. Thanks SO much, Ronvers!

Heart Of Darkness

That's the black magic ThreeDee used to make ff accept non-square images.

You're welcome, but all credit goes to ThreeDee.

You're welcome, but the credit goes to Uberzev... (especially for the black magic)

(By the way, hope to see that Mac Desktop pattern filter soon. I was "born" a Mac person so I still make my PC look like a Mac as much as possible...)

I take your point but to be fair this is the version that you arrived at independently.
I would switch to a mac in a second if I could afford it.
