256 unique strands!

Rendered in less than four minutes (according to the built in render timer)

think of it like a grid, an offset of 100 moves to a new cell.
so I abused that Feature

Draw back is it breaks seamless tiling (turning it on causes every strand to be exactly the same smile:( )

Cool...Its interesting that curve to shape just does not work the same with this...As I posted in the other thread this would be very useful in making wispy and curly hair strands....

+1 I end up liking a lot of filters by turning off seamless tiling.

Who needs bomber..

Same Idea except I used it to generate a random value for each offset. do that a few times and plug them into some attributes....

ok, i had a little play with fiber optic offsets smile;) i added a couple small features, strand thickness and inversion. one caveat here on mine. i'm working mostly in FF2 so that's where i put your filters originally and that's where i reworked them. so, this wont work in FF1 as is.
