This is essentially what I'm looking for. This filter has the right idea...

With Controls for the number of scratches, ice color, angles, etc.. If I ever figure out how to make it, I'll upload it. 
The Blue line is NOT needed in the design, as it needs to be seemless. Thanks in advance for any help. Stephen |

Stephen it now has controls for the prominents of the scratch line etc and tweaked, I'll throw it in the library on Monday ......... could you put a sample of the use in its filter thread

Very good ice, and it remind me of a good old joke:
A guy in northern Sweden was drinking a Saturday evening, lots of moonshine and was getting really drunk, and suddenly he felt an urge to go fishing. As it was in the middle of the winter, he brought his ice drill. He found a spot and started to drill, but it was like god was talking to him, he heard a voice saying "There are no fish here". He moved a bit and started to drill again, and he heard the same voice "There are no fish here". He moved again but suddenly saw this figure slowly moving towards him, with a faint light surrounding him. He asked "Are you God?" That ice is near perfect now!
Could we have curved skate lines? I think it would make it more authentic. Example (see attached image) Sliders to add or subtract the amount of scratches, length and maybe control the ice color. That would rock! Of course I'll post a sample of the filter being used!  |

yep it will have all those plus a few other usefull ones, like blood splatter for that authentic ice hockey look [ kidding ]
I'll post another example when I've added the curves |

LOL I think it will be the opposite, very small demand for scratched ice
