Hello FilterForge!

I just signed up, because over the past month or so I have downloaded 3 of the FilterForge free packs, and I really REALLY like them, I immediately started using them, and posted a blogShow "Extreme Makeovers" to send out to photo club members - I'm the webmaster for the Sunnyvale Photo Club, www.sunnyvalephoto.com. For some examples of my use of FilterForge filters, see:

http://www.photosmash.net/getimg/FSBl...me=mccann/

(I hope you can click on this OK - if the above ref appears in two lines,
join them.)

Then I downloaded more filters and discovered a really good effect that is a combination of a filter I downloaded, and a Photoshop setting. I call this the
"Paint Roller" because it makes the scene in an image look like it parts of it have been painted with a roller or "dry brush", in bright colors. It preserves, and in fact highlights, textural parts of an image. See:

http://www.photosmash.net/getimg/FSBl...me=mccann/

- for examples of the Paint Roller.

It's not easy to do, though. About 10 tries per photo and it took a long time. I wish there were an easier way, and one that gave me more control over the colors. But, I love this effect, and I think you'll agree with me that it can add "pop" and "punch" to an image, because of the beautiful bright colors that fit the other colors in an image.

So anyway, my questions are:

- does anyone know of a filter that can do this?
- has anyone even seen photos that have effects like this?
(I searched on the web and couldn't find anything.)

- bear in mind: this is NOT a Photoshop custom Brush, and I did not use any texture generators or do it "by hand", i.e., drawing with a brush.

Thanks FilterForge! - I hope all of you love filters as much as I do.

Regards,

Karen McCann
