Hello
![]() First of all, I spent my week to study and practice the filters creator. I'm proud of me because I have created my first one. But I need to understand few things : So I have few questions about creation of filters. 1. What means "move subtree" ? 2. What means "snap to grid" ? 3. Why I just have the default preview image ? I mean that I want more than one factory preset. So what we have to do to get few more ? Thanks in advance for the reply. Oh, in the guidelines, it says that we have to get 9 presets before uploading the filter in the galery. That is why I need more than one. And I wonder why a lot of filters just comes with only one defaut preset ? visit https://gisoft.ca |

Ok guys, I have found an answer to the point number 3. Yes, now I know that when we upload a filter fir the galery, they create all images coming with our submitted filter.
But for the points 1 and 2, I still do not know what it is. Please help me to know. About the filter submission, ,we cannot connect to the server. So, I have to wait and try later. This is happened to others since few days. I hope that this problem will get fix soon. And when you will see my first filter, please, pity, because it is my first try. Have a nice weekend ![]() visit https://gisoft.ca |

Hi Ghislaine, Q3. you will want to generate your own preset rather than have FF submission process randomly generate them for you [ random makes no creative judgements ]. On the preset page on the right side above the presets is an arrow, click it and you get the options to Add/Apply/Update or delete presets.
Q1. Ticking move subtree means that when you select and move a component all components that lead in to it [ the tree ] will move as well, while any components uninvolved in the tree will remain stationary. Q2. In the background of the filter editor is a grid, when you have snap to grid all components will automatically align with the grid lines when you move or place them. |

Thanks once again, Carl.
![]() It takes to me 7 months before using the filter editor. So, with Craig's help, I started to lurn and practice few days, this week. And I have developed a real passion to create filters. Before using the filter creator, I had in my mind that this is too hard for me to lurn. Since 2 days, I have created 3 filters, these are very easy. I have started with frame filters. But may be one day I will create more complex filters. It is with guys like you, Craig and others helpful folks that we can progress. ![]() I'm very frustated because I cannot share my filters with the community because the server must be to busy. But as it is my first attempt, the comments will be helpful too. visit https://gisoft.ca |
