I was looking at the XML file for my filter. The presets are pretty easy to spot. They begin with "<Preset preview_image=" and end with "</Preset>." Well, except for the default preset which begins with "<DefaultPreset preview_image"

I could just move these around. I'm tempted to do it. But I thought I should ask here first to see if anyone else has done this. I can't imagine my changes will clash with a cache some place. Or something else I don't know about.

Edit: after posting this I immediately thought it would probably be easer to do this in FF. Maybe select the one I want first, and save is as a new preset. Continue doing this in the order I want them to appear. Then delete everything that falls in front of my copy of the first one.

Hmmm

Ok, I was wondering about this, so I braved it for the filter I'm turning in tonight. The previews wouldn't all show the Kingfisher as I wanted, and I wanted one of the later presets, which would drop off with the cutoff at nine, to show right after the default, so reordered the presets as well and all seems to be working well.

Cris, which of the two methods did you use?

Edit: Okay, I finally tried this. Except I used the second method I mentioned. The one that used the FF interface.

1. I made sure I had a photograph active I was used to seeing all presets with.

2. Then I just went through the filters in the order I wanted them to appear. With each one I double clicked the preset, made sure it was displayed, clicked the menu choice to add preset. This added a duplicate to the end of the list.

3. Then, because the default preset cannot be deleted, I double clicked the duplicate preset I wanted first. Then I single clicked on the default to select it without activating it. Then picked menu choice to update the preset. That replaced the default with the one I wanted there.

4. Then I clicked on the first one I wanted to delete, and shift-clicked (in Windows) the last one I wanted to delete. Then deleted them all at once.

Of course, make a backup before doing this. smile:)
