Hi everybody. Yesterday I uploaded my H-D-Pseudo-R filter, and it's been classified as a FF3-only filter, because I used some preview pictures other that the lifesaver.
All the components in the filter are very FF2 compatible, so the preview images seem to be the only reason for it to state you need FF3 to use the filter. My question is, could I "update" the filter back to the library using only the lifesaver, or would the update be rejected because the filter components are the exact same? |

Sure you can, such updates will not be rejected.

yes, but if you make it with FF3 it's still going to be an FF3 only filter regardless of if you make it with in FF3 with only the components you'd find in FF2. (at least that's my current understanding. correct me if i'm wrong, GMM)

Thats how I understand it Craig....If you open up a FF2 filter in FF3 and not change anything but just to save it in FF3..It will then not open in FF2 because it was saved as a FF3 filter....

I suspected as much, since updating all the presets to lifesaver still wouldn't lemme open the filter in FF2.
Good thing I already remade the thing in FF2. EDIT: This is a bit cumbersome... To make it truly FF2 compatible I had to redo the filter in FF2, then load it through FF3 in order to resubmit it (FF2 can't update a filter that was originally submitted through FF3). However the previous update (The one that won't make it FF2 yet) is still in the queue, so I have to wait for it to come online in order to re-update it, and then wait for it to come out of the queue to have it ready for people to download.... Did that make any sense to you guys? ![]() |

you dont have to update by replace. just add an extra line to your title or even change the title. i'd just add a little extra to the title like: ...ver FF2 and then submit it through FF2 AS A NEW FILTER. you dont have to replace the FF3 version. just leave that one there for the FF3 users.

But... But.......
![]() If I split the filter into 2 filters, even if the filter is used alot I will have 2 avarage filters instead of HU (Not that I see it going HU, but who knows). ![]() |

OK, for some reason I can't update my filter to work with FF2, even though I completely redone it in FF2.
![]() Therefore, I will re-update the existing filter to have the FF3 preview images and upload a "new" filter that will support FF2. |

This is getting really frustrating!!!
I now got an Email that my FF2 compatible filter wasn't accepted to the library. GMM, or anyone else from FF Inc, can this be fixed? All I want is people with FF2 to be able to use the filter, it has no FF3 exclusive components. What do I do? |

Morgantao, this was a technical error. Please resubmit your v2-compatible version again, it will replace your v3-compatible filter.

I actually don't mind having both versions... the FF3 version is already up, it may as well just stay there.
Whatever is easier for you guys. ![]() Thanks! |

Thanks SpaceRay, let's hope it will be usefull for the comunity.
If you look at the filter in the editor you can see it's pretty simple. Hopefully others can use this filter to create better filters than I can ![]() |
