I don't know if it will be useful or not, but I show you some wireframes. Let me know what you think about that.

I like the second one and the last one a lot. These would make great background tiles, but I'm guessing they are not tileable. But having said that, I still think they would be very usable. smile;)

Thanks Morgantao and Mardar. the first and the last are my preference. The others was in try. I'm still working on more patterns. And I have deleted in my filter the componets of those 2,3 and 4 images and make others try.

It is possible for the seamless tiling. Yes, it is good for backgrounds. I'm still working with curves to get some wireframes without having it full screen, as we can see with SVG, AI or PSP files.

Mardar, monday you will get the v2 of the waves filter.

Have a nice weekend all ! smile;)

Great! I haven't had much time this week to play with v1 , I have been busy, but I hope next week I will have more time to really see what I can come up with. So many filters so little time. LOL smile:D

Thanks Spaceray. I'm "acro" at filter editor, I mean that I cannot live one day without playing with. I progress every day. I'm learning fast because, first, I love it. You know my other reasons. Lots of filters, yes, but I have some more that I did not shared yet.

If you want, you can go far with the filter editor. Continue to learn the filter editor with fun. It is very nice what you have done with Paint Chips filter. Don't stop working with the editor. smile:)

Well, I think they could be useful they are cool and nice, like them.

There are many fans of this kind of spirograph style graphics and there are LOTS of examples on internet as you can see here in this google images link

In this Google images link there are many Spirograph ART examples that could be useul.

If you probably want or need even more inspiration see the above link of google images spirograph graphics

I agree with Morgantao, that it could be useful to someone or many, or for something, submit it when you have it ready

Yup. On spirograms Uberzev did find a way to have bombed particles produce itself on the same spot. It's an old post.

Scroll down till you see the rainbow spirogram examples:
http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...9&TID=6781

Kinda neat actually. The way it works is a bit more complicated than you'd imagine but hey, it works. Most of it is value tinkering and it's pretty logical if you follow through.

WOW!! Skybase the uberzev Spirograph filter is really very well done and looks really beautiful and very well done and is very easy to use, you only need to configure the elipse component to change the result.

This should be in the library as this is very well and lovely to be lost in that thread. I will contact uberzev to tell him if he wants to make it available in the library.

Thanks very much for the link for this beauty.

Here is the DIRECT link to that thread

Ghislaine, release your filter because this one from uberzev ONLY has one elipse shape and you have many different shapes as seen in the image you have shown

Thanks guys for your encouragements! smile:) I will continue that way and try the Uber methods.

For now, yes Spacerasy, I will release my 3 filters as is this week, because I have to check them all if all is ok. It is not so easy, not for making these filters but for the words to enter in the controls. I have not a big space and have to short the words and I wonder if users will understand. I have also to find the time because I'm very busy this week.

Glad that you are working on a new filter CFandM. Looking forward for this new one. smile;)

Skybase, a special thank to you for the links and your intervention. I'm glad to see Uber's filters. I did not know that his 2 filters was existing. But I will study them when I'll get time and see what I can do with.

Just one question : how come these 2 Uber's filters are directly places in my filters folder ? Usualy filters go in their category. Anyway, happy that these filters are in my filters folder.

About my 3 spirograph filters, even if they are a lot of controls, they still fast enough (without bomber). Hoping that with one or two bombers it will be fast enough. smile:)

Thanks again everyone.

A couple notes I want to mention about the spirogram filter: because it was made with 2.0 some of the components are obsolete. The offset no longer works the way it does so you can't simply replace the obsolete offset and expect it to work the same. The lookup component gets it kinda close if you were to update it. There are also a couple things you need to modify for it to properly work. Wish uberzev was here to explain the filter. It's kinda complicated and for some parts I understand how it works but the network for scaling, rotating, and otherwise... I kinda understand it but it's a bit more complicated than I imagined.

Ghislaine, UberZev's filters got right into your "my filters" folder because they were downloaded from the forum. Only filters that are dowsnloaded from the online library go to a category. smile:)

Well, the easy solution for this is to NOT replace the obsolete components and keep them as they are and only add new components and controls.

I ahve already made myself a new Spirograph filter based on uberzev work just adding more components and controls and it works well.

Thanks for the info Morgan. smile;)

Spaceray, would you show me few images or just one from your spiro filter, just need to see what this gives ? smile:)

I uploaded a filter yesterday but the FF team did not add any filter in the galery this morning. This filter is not a spirogram one but an Atom Gen. It was from this filter that I got my inspiration to create my spirograms.

Maybe tomorrow I will upload one of them, hoping that I will have time.

Probably will just update the example to 3.0... because why not. I just personally don't like seeing inconsistency in versions especially when there were major changes in the last couple versions of FF. You know... just keeping stuff clean. Nothing's wrong with the continued use of obsolete components, just in some cases it causes minor problems.

Hey Ghilslaine:

FWIW: See on this image how the wireframes are stretching?

There is a way to fix that:
if you:
A) make a high-contrast checkerboard (say black and white, or red and green, or red and cyan)
B) distort the checkerboard as before
C) use either high pass or edge finder to generate lines from the checkerboard.
(see also http://www.filterforge.com/filters/4722.html )

Here a last example that I do not like because the lines are not marching. In the second example above, to get the matched lines, I had to check "Inclined". Tell me if you get another solution that to check Inclined, please. smile:)

it's simply the the line in the checkers try using profile gradient instead - increase the lines to as many as you want smile:)

Here's the file:
Just look at the top part: (and ignore all the curve/gradient mess below): see how the checkerboard and the color are both packed into one 'image' using the alpha - and then it's all unpacked at the end? Much better!

This keeps the 'wires' all nice and clean - all one size - even after severe transformations.

First you need to make sure you've got a uniform line thickness.
Then the anti-aliasing likely is going to give you trouble.
Finally any extreme distortion will likely ruin the illusion.

Long ago I grappled with the wireframe style effect but was never happy with the results.

In a real wireframe you get more lines where geometry is more convoluted. In FF you end up with big "gaps" while attempting to distort the lines.

Perhaps there's a Lua script that could do a more realistic job.

Yeah, you've done well on the line thickness aspect. smile:)

However, why not start with simpler geometry, like a sphere or torus, or perhaps a simple section of noise? (Also the colors distract)
