Is it considered ok to split up a filter into a basic and a more elaborate version?
I have a very basic and fast version and another a bit slower one that builds on top of that and adds another look. (Not hugely different, but it adds another painting technique.)
I could probably make a check box, but seeing that only one picture is displayed during the search it would make sense to have two separate versions of the filter, so it's easier to find what you are looking for. (At least for me it would be, since I mostly scan over the pictures if there are a lot of results and don't necessarily read the description.)

I'm sure it's fine to do so. However, I always felt if the difference between the fast and the extended versions are minimal, then keep it within 1 filter. You can really just utilize the switch component to bypass certain operations and it'll give you that fast render you want. So I personally would make it just 1 filter with the option to bypass or not bypass those components.

I agree with Skybase. You can use a switch to determine which part of the filter to use.

Thx for your input!
Will decide based on how different the looks and purposes are.

I also recommend using Switch instead of two separate filters.

Well, I guess the biggest hardship is, I have to think of a new filter name now. smile;)

Will probably take some time until it's finished, anyways. It's so easy to stray from your path when playing with different components.
