This looks really nice. Would be usefull for architectural designs.
The only critique I have is that the pattern continues seamlessly between the tiles. It should be broken, since nobody ever installs tiles that perfectly. |

Thanks.
I completely agree with your critique. I could not find a way to randomize sections of the base pattern... the best I could do(so far) is use the H,L,S -controls to create some color variation in the individual blocks. I'm working on trying to do that though... but so far I haven't really found any filter that does the equivalent... it might not be easily possible( without too many controls and making to filter real slow)... who knows (except the real Forge-Masters)... Currently I make much better marble block materials using photoshop... I take a marble or granite patten and using a pre-made template I cut the seamless texture into blocks, then apply a "bevel" filter. When I first bought Filter Forge I was surprised there were no filters like that so I tried making some... at the moment this is the best I can do... but, hopefully, if it is possible I might figure it out at a latter time. The attached image show one of my "hand-made" textures done in photoshop... much closer to what I'm shooting for in a Filter Forge texture (as longs as it renders quicker than the 30- 40 minutes it take to do this the current way). P.S. If you find the attached texture useful feel free to use it. ![]() |

First, that's a GREAT looking texture you attached there!
![]() Second, have a look at this filter: Realistic Wood Planks by Futuremotion And this noe: Parquet 2.0 by Kochubey They both use the same basic elements to make the texture break between tiles. See if you can use that method for your filter. |

Thanks!! I did not think to look in wood flooring!! I'm gonna dissect them and see how that is done! Cool, thanks again!
