I love these kinds of distortion filters.

You understand. I like yours too. I noticed a lack of "echo" tools, and looping is a perfect way to do it, as long as you can keep the iterations down. You can also make concentric rectangles, up to 8 sided seeds, and circles/ellipses.

This is really great and well done, and good idea to use the loops in this cool way and like it and gives a new twist to the way to make iterative images
I have a possible suggestion for another filter variation (maybe a separate filter) if you want and like it Be able to have drop shadows on each of the iterations The effects on this filter as said are very good, but alternatively, there could be another way to have these effects maybe with drop shadows as in the examples here ![]() This one above is too much plain and can´t really see well the different elements, so let´s give drop shadows that make it pop out and make a difference ![]() Compilation of shadows in FF in this other thread if want more information Simulating real shadows inside Filter Forge - compilation of threads |

I would probably do "shadows" in a different version. The current version does not allow enough "offset" distance for a drop shadow to work. A newer version could allow more distance between the echoes, then a drop shadow makes sense.

Good that you may like the idea and you are considering to make another version, (maybe as said above, with a different filter, or how you think is better) I agree with you and is true that if the "offset" distance is low and short, it may not make sense as they are too close to each other to be able to make it and see a difference. |
