Yeah, my weak take on a "batik" looking filter. Northernshadow I think it was, (I looked, and I was right - http://www.filterforge.com/filters/2217.html ) has a much nicer one, but hey, I tried ha-ha

well, the preserver looks interesting. i'll have to play around with this one when i get caught up with some other things.
dont sell yourself short, jffe; i'm always looking for new art effects. wouldnt bother me a bit if there were 16 batik filters and another 20 for van gogh  If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I'm hooked on the word "Batik"; thanks for doing this, jffe. I haven't done this yet, but I think using yours in combo with Northernshadow's could produce some nice effects. I have a good feeling.

----Oh, I was just comparing it, that other one is way better/more accurate. My stuff might be a starting point for someone to expand upon, hopefully I'm not just clogging up the system too much, gotta leave room for the next generation to do that and earn their free copy of FF.

hehe, so you're making 'filler' now? just so the library filters wont get lonely?
the thing is, even if 'that other one is way better..', i dont care. that it's different and unique is what matters to me as far as the filter. i do photo art, so i wouldnt want another one that was just a copy of sherri's. so, 16 different batik's is fine with me. i dont even care if some of those 16 turn out not to be batik at all. i only care about the effect itself, not its name. so, bring it on! If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

----Well, not trying to make filler ha-ha, trying to avoid that for the most part, just saying the other batik filter is better, but like you said, mine's different, and it does what the name says kinda, so no worries. I'm not trying to whine or make excuses between this filter and that InnerScapes one, just saying, there's better filters being submitted to talk about than these is all ha-ha.

there are all sorts of plaids; tight, loose, tartan, etc. go for it

Eh, it's just sorta plaid looking, and sorta cutout looking. It's Plaid Grungifier, so don't expect pristine results ha-ha

Well, the plaid one is a totally different filter, it's somewhat similar with the kind of shape outline/cutout thing going on, but it started out as something else, and ended up being a sort of plaid version of the other one, so I'm kind of lumping them together for now. I dunno, I've just not been coming up with too much all that thrilling lately, but I hate to disappear entirely, so why not a sequel or take off of a previous filter I guess.

I updated this one. It's got that alpha channel thinger now as a background option, some internal stuff was tweaked just a hair, and I added a couple of new controls. It's a very minor/subtle update, but it does make it look a hair better overall. So yeah, if ya liked the first version, grab this one and check it out, cause it is not radically different, just a hair better me thinks.

Hey, thanks to whoever used the crap out of this one, I had about written it off, and today I look and it's HU.
There is another 'batik' filter that looks better really, so to people using this one = keep shopping, there's more in the library, maybe try spelling 'batik' wrong ha-ha.

Euhmz i use this filter a lot creating nice patterned overlays in backgrounds its great! and it also works well using it as a 'ancient wallpainting"
maybe less batik, but usefull!! thanks^^ |

----Eh, not back when I made that filter there wasn't, I mean it uses 'Average Color', no one ever uses that it's the red headed stepchild of filter components.
