This filter is WOW ! And it can be use with all images or photos. Lot of possibility my friend and your examples are so nice.

It gives me the idea to use it with an alpha bg for the final and apply this "final"on another image. Awesome filter DJI ! smile:)

WOW!! Lovely and excellent! Great web texture that you can custom colorise with any source image colors. Well done

Also thanks for the nice and good examples made by you, as seems that nobody else is putting any examples after submitting a filter

POSSIBLE SUGGESTION

It comes to my mind now a possible suggestion that is only an idea, and is if possible to add an optional drop shadow in the back using alpha background transparent, you can of course do it as you want, and it can be done possibly in an alternative version of the filter if you want.

so you can render then render the first web one with drop shadow and save it separate, then render another one and save it too, then load both of them on Photoshop or similar to layer them, one behind the other, so you can see the second one through the web holes of the first one.

Also could be possible to render a third one to put behind the second one

MULTI FILTER

Another possible alternative is to be able to make another filter that could be able to do this as explained above ALL inside Filter forge and in one time, without having to render them separately.

But do not know if this would make the filter slower, or could maybe there any possible problem.

Thanx Ramlyn! smile:D And SpaceRay,I'll definitely think about your idea. smile:)---Ok. So it's about a 1/2 hour later and i've put a shadow on this filter. The problem is this. It can only take the tiniest bit of shadow before it looks like the background is bulging through the holes. smile:( So that's the name of that toon. smile:). And as far as the layering thing goes people are just going to have to figure it out for themselves.I mean seriously, how tough can it be to render twice and layer once?

It kinda requires a bit of restructuring. The thing right now is that it's effectively a filter that utilizes the height parameter to crank the shadows or the appearance of thickness. Although ultimately this has severe limitations due to the way FilterForge handles height, global illumination, etc.

You can of course really push it with the lighting tab, you can add point lights to your scene of course to emphasize shadow and highlight but this doesn't really give control to you. This also relies on your height map, which in this filter, needs a helping hand.

One of the precautionary things to remember is that the height map input is strictly grayscale, in other words, color input would be converted to grayscale. It's generally "ok" to input plain color since FilterForge is smart about that, but on the down side since it gets converted from one color space to another through some algorithm, you do lack control over the height parameter. This often results in undesirable artifacts or difficulties controlling the filter when you want to do a bit more later.

So that was a bit of technical stuff for everybody. smile;)

As for fun, I've went in and just modified the filter to some degree to what SpaceRay was talking about. I'll just... upload the mod sometime soon here. In general, I'm trying to keep the original core structure to the best of my ability while trying to construct SpaceRay features lol. So with respect!

Is there any news for the shadow as skybase has shown very well?

thanks
