Thank you Stevie~ This filter was inspired by your suggestion of adding more noise in relation to my Acid Wash Photo Edge filter. You got me thinking and then decided to make an overall acid wash.
((((Can't thank you enough)))). You the man!~ Jean |

Here is an example of how the filter could be used to lighten a web page background---->> another filter as in this case and even a photo. Now this isn't the acid wash filter but I made both of the filters used on the page background and 'acid wash' is very similar. So thought I'd post the page as example of how it could be used. Persidio P.S. And if you scroll down the page---> 'Acid Wash' is reccomended for a similar effect. |

Also great for projects~
![]() I've got two images to show, both are made from my Country Quilt Filter (the tutorial for the quilt can be found in the comments area for that filter). Both of these quilts were given a final gloss of Acid Wash~ ![]() ![]() Click to view larger image~ ![]() |

What you really want to see is this filter on a photo right? Okay.
What you'll need for this mini tutorial is a photo with background scenery, preferably a bit too dark but crisp and clear. You will need these filters. My Acid Wash Filter (link for download area at the top of this page) and StevieJ's Ghosting and StevieJ's Glass Filter. These three filters are a must have and you might consider putting them in your favorites so that you can use them on other projects without having to hunt and search your FF filters. Select half of your photo. Apply the first default preset for Acid Wash. Now go back to make another application. Choose the first default and change the settings to: Hue 54 Lightness 51 More Acid 32 Saturation 50 Size, pixels 150.34 Variation 13237 Seamless Tiling Unchecked Save as a new preset and apply. ---------------------------------- Now apply StevieJ's Ghosting with these settings: Transparency 0 Minimum 37 Maximum 52 Blend Modes 11 Blur 0 Reflection Blur 0 Color Shift 50 Saturation 50 Size, pixels 129.68 Seamless Tiling Unchecked Save as a preset and apply. ---------------------------------------- Go to StevieJ's Glass Filter (These are much easier to get to if you have them in your favorites) Use these settings: Refraction 0 Reflief 71.00 Image Blur 2.00 Contrast 82 Invert Image 'Not Checked' Color Shift 50 Saturation 65.00 Size, pixels 1 Variation Seamless Tiling 'Not Checked' Save as a preset and apply. Keep your filtered image selected and shrink your base twice. (((You may like it with one shrink so, do two applications of resize on the base image at 90%))). Add Text. Apply the last preset you made with StevieJ's Ghosting. Merge all layers~ Click to view the larger image~ ![]() |

You know I thought this one would go HU when I made it. I made two Acid filters,, one went HU and the other didn't. That's why I gave this one new presets, because it really is a fun filter. It's old enough to turn HU... just needs more usage... updating older filters help them get noticed (because they enter like a new filter in the recent category list) and also the updates might just be what the end user was waiting for. That's how everyone was thinking Lace TableCloth was new (it wasn't)... because Lace Dollies had two updates and had gone thru the recent filters list due to the upgrades even though it was an old filter. (((Thank you Lynn for the compliments))) ((I luvs this one too)). ![]() |
