I'd like to see textures from this used on anime-style 3D models' hair. Or perhaps even used in a way that the author (Zephos) hadn't originally intended.

Thank you for posting that link to Vladimir! ^_^ I was worried for a while that the Shoujo and anime in jokes were just a little too obscure resulting in "... ... ..." responses, ahahaha ^_- Technically of course, Shoujo Strands can be used for a lot of other things than the hair of healthy female biped... (Zephos completely ignores logical alternate application on male characters), yes... it sure can be.
Thanks for checking it out too Kraellin, Shoujo Strands was the first filter I took seriously since I love drawing and coloring the hair on my anime style characters and wanted to see if I could make a filter out of it, ahahahaha. That's a good point Torley with using Shoujo Strands with 3D textures. Actually originally, I was thinking of returning back to my old The Sims 2 heavy duty modding days and was wondering how this filter would fair in creating new hair textures. If it's for a 3D texture, there is an option to weaken the highlights that I recommend using unless you are doing some serious low poly modeling, since you'll usually want actual light highlights unless you go with the stylistic approach. ^_- One thing I'd love to do with this filter is create the option of dividing the hair into clumps like actual drawn anime hair, but it's something that I haven't quite wrapped my head around yet, so I'm still looking into it ^_^ Thank you for checking it out though, it's made my day ~^_^~ -Zephos |

Thank you voldemort! Shoujo strands is one of my favorite since the hair sample presets are inspired by the anime style characters from the cast on my website at www.xynthica.com. The blue main preset one of course is naturally inspired by my healthy female biped mascot Xyni that should be appearing on the side as my avi on these forums ^_^.
Although it's a bit more detailed and less precise, the process that I created Shoujo Strands in mind with is similar to how I actually draw and color the hair for my anime illustrations, which I like very much ^_^ One thing I never quite got to work satisfactory for me was making the hair spike more naturally and adding solid black dividers to separate strands, which I hope to look into sometime -_^ Thanks again for your interest in my filters voldemort ~^_^~ -Zephos |
