Hey, this is really cool Constantin! I'd like to see you do two things with this filter:
1. The main shield looks flat, but when I think of Viking Shields they're usually curved -- I'd like to see a slider tha makes the shield look curved. 2. More presets! You can do so much with this, like the google image search shows. Paint schemes, variety in the metal patterns, etc. I can imagine being able to go nuts with it if there were a few more options. This is my kind of filter, really great idea for a texture. :afro: |

I agree with Mike. This is a nice concept that should be developed much further.
As a first crit, I'd completely get rid of the background. Transparency will do nicely, IMO. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Thanks, Mike and Dilla!
Update incoming... Viking Shield V2 ![]() !ATTENTION! If You use this filter - make a copy before update as the incoming version will destroy Your personal presets. |

It is a VERY bad idea to use Size controls as you had used them in ver2. Shield can look as a shield should only if Size slider is at maximum, in any other cases it will look like this shield has a big hole in its center or even like a wooden edge of a mirror!
i can't think of a reason why did you missed this ![]() ![]() please, consider to fix this problem in the next version, because everything else is cool with this filter! |

Frame components = BAD!
![]() Nevertheless, there does exist the option to turn off randomization of 'Size, pixels', which kind of fixes the issue. ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

"DEFAULT SIZE" control wasn't in plans as one of controls for this version. REASON: In order to avoid any results like this: ![]() It's not supported option to exclude this control from the list, so it need to be switched as it is (on maximum) and switched off in the randomizer settings. I'm preparing update for the current version, where it will be possible to use the default size control and also to change separately the next: [1] Planks count [2] Studs size, count, and form [3] Pattern subcontrol: repeat [4] Image controls ![]() and some other things. If You can add something else - I'll consider it.
As it was said - it's possible to switch off "Randomize Size" option in the "Randomizer Settings". Thanks much for attention! |
