This is a very pretty flower. But I'm curious why it's in effects rather than in patterns. As I understand it, effects typically are "content aware" or at least have the option of being that -- i.e. they start with the user's image and modify it -- whereas patterns are images unto themselves -- i.e. they don't have the option of modifying a user's image. Am I misunderstanding how the filters are arranged?

When a filter author submits a filter they have a place to choose what category to submit it under. Filters are under two main sections. The first being textures. These are all filters that do not use an image. Then the effects section are all filters that use an image in some fashion. Both the textures and effects sections have their own sub-sections. These are broken up as follows.

Since this filter does not use an image of any type then it would be in the textures section. It is also not a pattern nor does it fit into building, stone, etc. It fits into misc.

Okay, yeah, this is me not paying attention -- sorry. I said pattern when I meant texture, and of course, yes, it's in textures. Again, sorry.
