I'm jealous. You are prolific and I would call you a pattern impressionist. Good work! Math meets art meets psychedelia.

Thanks Rick!
No reason to be jealous. You made many beautiful and innovative filters. I really like your works.
Maybe you are right about the "pattern impressionist".
I made a lot of filters using Bomber or Bomber+ with different shaped particles.
I want to make something completely new, before that my filters may become boring. Ha! Ha!

Is this filter broken now? It's creating a mirrored image for me.

Hi JackMagus. Thank you for the message.
I think you tried the filter with a non squared image. Some filter work better with squared images.
Anyway I made an upd ate. It should appear soon. The update allows you to scale, squash and offse t the result. This way, if you get a mirrored image, you can choose to move your image in the center and resize it to fit your needs.

Thank you.
The title is someway a joke and a words play.
"Always use the softener", thinking about the fibers made soft.
And "All ways" to "use the softener", referring to the filter presets.
So finally "Allways use the softener". Ha! Ha!

I think this is the best way to make also other filters work well on images that are not a square.

Ha, Ha, at first I did not notice that the name has one more L as "ALL" and is funny and great how you have made the name, cool.
As have been said, this deserves totally the Editor´s Pick because it converts a very simple and plain image as the FF Ladybug into a very artistic version with such awesome fibers and different tones.

And here is using the your own Q-Rotor filter (Spectrum color based) and preset 1 where can be seen all the many details and tones it creates

Hello, Ramlyn
I'm a FilterForge user making images for mailart [I'm an 'artist' who can't draw] and find some of the filters very slow on my old i5 8400 windoze box so I bought an i9 12900K windoze box and so far, filters seem just about as slow. This after FilterForge help person said speed of filters was related to speed of CPU.
I address this to you but not feeling that you are the correct person to ask for help but because I first noticed this behavior using your softener filter.
So, any helpful comments from you would be a step on the way of speeding up my use of FilterForge.
Y'r [new] ol' Buddy, Fike [short for Ficus strangulensis {sometimes AKA Forrest Richey}] at it for more than 80 yrs; retired organic chemist; mailartist who can't[?] draw so follows Picasso's advice and appropriates and alters

Hello .
The speed of a filter may depend on many factors.
Surely, one can be your computer, but not only that.
Some filters are slower than others because they are more complex or because they use components that are slower (if you open the editor, you can easily verify this by yourself).
Another reason can be if you have other programs that are running when you use the filter, because they can take away resources fr om Filter Forge.
Other factors can be the size of the image where the filter is applied, and also your selections in the Settings. Example: controls like Repeat and Density, that are connected to a Bomber component, may change the speed of the filter depending if you reduce or increase their values.
The main preset of this filter took exactly 1 minute to be complete in my computer, that is an old Windows 10 without any special graphic card. When I did it, I was also using Firefox to download several files and other two graphic programs to do some work.
Then.... I think this filter is probably not the fastest one, but not even slow.
Try to check if there are other running programs (especially internet browsers) and close them. This may help.
