I have just seen that this filter that has won a high usage (HU) award that is totally deserved, does not have any comments yet

This as far as I know of the available filters I have seen, is the most creative, unique, special, artistic, weird, unusual and jaw dropping effect for this kind of distortion in such high quality and great way

This is a very good idea, curious and cool artistic way to make distortion using fractals and creates something that is not distorted as usually you may see and makes an amazing composition from the source image given. I think that if you sel ect well the source image it can create great and beautiful things

Like much how the fractals are used and included to create the distortion and with the smooth gradients
You have really created and discovered such innovative way to make this kind of distortions and I am happy and great that you have also made additional versions of this filter to help the get the most of this filter as it has a high potential (as shown from the HU award it earned) and below I have put the other version for anyone interested

I agree with the keywords you have put
reshape, distort, deformation, abstract, art, modern, artistic, chaos, fractal, remap, warp, warped, distort, distortion

ESCAPE RADIUS setting

Please, can you be so kind to explain what is the Escape Radius is and how it affects the result? It seems that it is about the scale of the effect and how many parts are distorted

It is a technical term of the fractal that is rendered.

Quote: "The escape radius is a parameter used in iterating a point. It is the radius of a circle on the Complex Plane used as a boundary to determine when iteration can stop. The circle is centered at the origin. As soon as the iteration yields a value that falls outside the circle, iteration can stop and it has been determined that the point that was iterated is not a member of the fractal set.

The reason for having an escape radius is to prevent iteration from going on forever. The iteration is supposed to terminate when the iteration becomes unbounded, i.e. goes off to infinity. It is fairly straightforward to show that if a point ends up outside a radius then the iteration will go off to infinity."

Sorry, I think that is to technical, but thats the way it is. Just try it out.

ONE Dragon Distort II Landscape by Wolfgang Halder

This was great to have if you want to use Landscape images instead of only square ones as it happens with this filter above

Creates a fractal distortion. This is the animate version of the filter Dragon Distort II. Now you can set the effect fr om 0 to 100% distortion to create an animation. Have fun!

This is an even more awesome and stunning version wh ere this filter can really shine even more as you can animate the effect and it looks really gorgeous and beautiful

it can be made also a loop using time reverse as seen here below, so you can have endless distortion and reconstruction

This is an earlier version that is available for FF 7 instead of FF 11 Studio

FOUR Dragon Distort III By Wolfgang Halder

Creates a fractal distortion. This is another variation of the Dragon Distort filters

For this third version Wolfgang Have kindly put some examples with the original and result images as shown in the comments page of the filter here
