That's sooo cute. Like a map for an RGP game...

heh... I actually started out trying to make grass and dirt... but I couldn't get the grass to look realistic enough so I put in some cells (and acorns)

Very cool there Sjeiti..Using the cells for the trees actually give it more of an old rgp game more than anything....Kinda looks like Warcraft® version .09 pre-alpha..hehe

Sjeiti, you should really make a whole suite of old-school RPG related maps for all terrain types...

very clever. reminds me of some of the early satellite imagery we used to see and use in game terrains.

I agree with Dilla, the sky's the limit on where you could go with this....and the gamers would love it

I love this filter and completely agree with the comments that it resembles an RPG map! Next thing you know, there might be a filter to create an RPG dungeon like terrain! For this filter though, the only thing I could really suggest is maybe a flower/mushroom/flora layer on the grass as well, but it really looks natural just looking at it as it is ^_^

Ah mix in a little of this.
I also thought of a nice little game I could use this filter for... but it involves sheep (again) (...time...) here's some grass and flowers ![]() |

this reminds me quite a bit of railroad tycoon 3's 3d terrain features, especially where we imported aerial and satellite images into the game terrain.

The flowers look great and although the riverbank looks a bit out of place currently, Forest trails is getting better with each alteration! Soon enough, you might have to change the name to something a bit more broad though like Terrain Trails ^_- I would imagine that there are countless things you can add and maybe a desert or snow spin-off would be possible too!

sjeiti,
looks like you worked out the bugs. well, i suppose you cant eliminate all the bugs or the landscape would die. but, you know what i mean ![]() If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I downloaded this filter and it looks so awesome! Just few ideas about trails, you could use river mask to cancel any trails that are going to the river to other side.. or make a bridge for that purpose? Then maybe it won't look as weird. Just an idea.

Thanks...
actually, it's been a while since I touched FF (hadn't even updated yet). When I was making this I thought bridges would be impossible (or very hard), but I just got an idea I could try. I finally have some more free time next week, maybe then. |

Good to see you and Forest Trails on the first page of the Comments forum again Sjeiti! I can say it with great enthusiasm that Forest Trails is one of my most favorite filters of all time ^_^ Comes with my love of RPG overworld maps, ahahah -- keep up the great work Sjeiti, you have something awesome going here and I hope it reaches High Usage Rank very soon (Actually, I'm surprised it hasn't already) ^_^
