I'd recommend variation 6 as the default, as that one is the most interesting looking. smile;)

lol, thanks guys. I had trouble picking which to set as the default. And I know Dilla likes number 6 smile:D, part from had already sent the filter in last week before I started posting some of the images. Mind if others rather a different variation as the default I could resubmit it. I would say with the light effect but I think that would really be another filter cause it looks different to some degrees anyway.

Well, am thinking, of updating with the light effect addition, but not sure if that would be classed as an update or new filter, part from I have managed to set it so you can turn the light effect off so it looks like the original filter. That and added a repeat to the elevation gradient so that you get more metal texture effects, all most like an engraved metal when the repeat slider is in the higher figures.

Doing a test run on res times at the mo. Then have to think about the issues with light colours.

smile:D so 2 choices, minor update (change presets around) or mega update (additional functions) smile;)

Okay these are the possibles for a major update.

All the following are variation 6 thats been tweaked with new functions. (Will still be able to create as is as well)

with added rust (which has control features to increase detail, change the angle, colour etc)

Variation 6, with metal fold and rust. All rendering times are around 4 minutes for a 512x512 size image.

Variation 6 with rust and red lights. Took 4 mins and 50 seconds to render. Not sure if I should add all the above extra features plus the light feature. Think if I disable the folded metal the rendering time goes down by about 1 min.

Let me know what you all think on this matter, and then I'll submit the filter as an update smile:D.

I tend to agree with Steve [ yeh it happen once in a blue moon smile;) ] for your render times maybe you could turn off the Anti-Alaising on the default preset - it may or may not look good, give it a try, it will quarter your render time [ possibly ] smile;) smile:)

Well if you guy's all like 1 and 4, I can drop the metal fold from that filter.. and just keep that version for me hehe...

That will cut down on the rendering time a fair bit too. Well by 1-2 minutes that is.

Yep and even less if I hit anti-aliasing to off.

Will do a few more tweaks then send it in tomorrow, unless someone else has said, No I like 2 and 3 as well... smile:D

Thanks for the comments though Dilla! So do you think them will be worth the rendering time?

So.. comparing your machine to mine.. render time for you will be a blink of an eye smile;) smile:D.

Anyway, have sent in the updated version and has been accepted smile:D. I left the original presets in the 20 you can send in, but changed some of the first 9 variations around including the default.. smile;) This is when I get a.. maybe you should put number whats it as the default instead? smile:eek: smile:D

While your result is not speedy, it is on the safe side...
