Great effect, but way too slow -- I'd recommend to find a way to speed it up. Other than that, a good candidate for an Editor's Pick.

Thanks. Its kind of a work in progress, as I threw it together pretty quickly and didnt have time to optimize yet. I'll get to it soon.

Alright. Update submitted.
The slow rendering speed was due to various noises with high roughness and detail being fed into a dreaded highpass node. I added a "Details" slider to better control the rendering speed while still allowing for high detail if needed. The default preset now has Details = 0 and should render pretty fast. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Spent some time again scratching my head over streamlining this filter. Ripping out the highpass and re-designing the 'edge' detection made it about 3x faster, but the effect isn't 100% to the point anymore in my opinion, so I am not submitting it as an update.
I attached this 'LITE' version below for anyone interested. It's unsupported by the way, so use at your own risk... ![]() Crumpled Paper LITE.ffxml --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |
