Thanks Krae. smile:) It's a really simple filter, I just thought it looked pretty good, and I know it renders fast, so hey.

Minor update, one new feature/control, and I reworked the presets a bit.

----I know silly, I was just quoting that old LL Cool J song ha-ha. smile:D
----I gave up on graphics a while back, and until FF v2 is out, I can't see stretching my brain to learn new tricks with an old toy (ie = FF V1). FF is still the easiest to use that I've found, it's just that after 2 years or so of using it and all, and not making any money doing graphics, it's definitely slipped down the hobby ladder a step or three. I still lurk though, and perhaps the final-release-new-feature-laden FFV2 will draw me back ha-ha.

Well its good to see you haven't put FF at the bottom of the toychest yet..Or even in the back bottom of the closet.. smile;) smile:)
Hope the final release does bring you back jffe.. smile:)

----I've still been lurking a bit, checking out the new V2 filters posted to the library occasionally. We'll see if I get some more HU's in 2010, if so, I'll probably grab V2 and see if I can do anything worth submitting. smile:)

That's really nice!
There is nothing so simple that I cannot complicate it. I try to think of it as a gift.

----Thanks, I assume you mean the filter, not my other comments ha-ha. smile:)

----I just submitted a small update for this one earlier, it should show up in the database tonight or tomorrow I would think.

So they're about a week behind on updating the filters now, I guess some things just never change ha-ha.

----I thought they had the filter submission routine all automated by now, I mean 7 and a half thousand filters later, I'd be tired of dealing with them by hand and need a vacation too ha-ha.

---Sorry, I missed that before. Thanks. smile:) The update isn't too huge, but then the filter is extremely simple, it just has a cool look to it, and the update actually does improve & expand the look(s) of it. smile:)

Creepy, I saw the main preset from this filter on one of those picture/texture selling sites. Bad news for anyone wasting their time with all that though, hint = you will never make a dime from FF stuff, lord there's nothing to be made from original seamless tiles on any of the big sites. Maybe if yer a good thief you can make a few bucks on 2nd life, or if you run a niche thing like sign guy who caters to one specific type of market/style.

jffe: as we discussed in Craigs thread, to wreck havoc to the second life economic structures, create a nude/porn filter to render texturemaps for second life (Jim N. was doing a texture map wrap thing before ).

I've seen some of my filters presets in the loose too. I know some less than serious companies just harvest FF pages of presets Thats how I found FF, googled for seamless textures, ended up on a strange site selling textures (not signguy), and then clicked next link and ended up on FF site with one of Dillas filters.

One of my fastest HUs was one of my simplest filters. German philosophy* doesn't always rule.

Why make it simple when we can make it so beautifully complex.

----Oh yeah, I had that happen once too, something I thought up on a walk, came home and made in like 20-30 mins, went HU in like a month ha-ha. ( http://www.filterforge.com/filters/5881.html )
----I guess with the metal looking textures I just kind of assumed only ones that looked either 1) like something from the real world, or 2) really dirty/rusty/scratched up, would be popular enough to bother stealing ha-ha.
