I love the way you've done the wood pattern on this

It looks lovely, but why is it so slow to render on a 3Ghz quad-core CPU with 8 Gb of RAM? Ouch.

Yeah, it's pretty slow. I really just made this for personal use, so I didn't spend time optimizing it. Maybe I'll make an optimization pass at it later. What's odd is that I made another filter very similar to this and it wasn't nearly as slow. I think maybe the rotations kill it?

I tried to reduce the percentage of both rotations but I only see one pixelated corner of the image. This is a very complicated filter and being a newbie I didn't want to mess with it any further. Is it possible to disable rotatiosn or a good idea to remove them altogether to speed rendering? Would it also be possible to make a choice of rotation percentages and other parameters for rotations?

So, nobody's commented in years, but I wanted to say that this filter played a part in my decision to buy the tool. That name of it, combined with the quality, amused me to no end, and further engaged my already engaged interest.
Very nice, and thank you. I'm still new - I'll be clever later |
