Why on this Logarithm Filter by Indigo Ray is many UNUSED components ?

Sorry I wrote badly the title, should be "Why on this Logarithm Filter by Indigo Ray THERE IS so many UNUSED components ?"

I have just found this very interesting and beautiful filter snippet made by Indigo Ray, called Logarithm

And when I open it there is whole lot of other components already connected between them BUT has no real use and do not do anything because they ARE NOT connected to the result component, so FF will ignore them totally.

Is it that these other components are different other option apart from the many given already in the left side of the components?

Can these other components be useful for something in some way ?
