Wait until you see the update! I just submitted it. It has soapy film, a new specstrenght map, the ability to blend the bubble reflections front to back and the ability to fade the reflections. It is a tremendous improvement. In fact - don't even look at this one.
BTW, it wasn't vision, I stumbled onto the idea when I was trying to make lichens. @ronviers

----Ha-ha, welcome to 3/4+ of my weird filters You and that redcap fellow just pick some obvious-ish stuff, well, it seems obvious after the fact ya know, ideas for kind of "everyday/real world filters" that a lot of us here should've picked up on long ago. I think volde has some similar stuff to your bubbles, but his are usually a hair over the top, like he has the reverse of the Stevie syndrome, (Stevie is mr. precise filter-wise, if his apartment is as clean as I suspect it is, I wish he was my roomate for that alone ha-ha, no offense man, just saying, precision, zoom in, cover exact territory, that's what I think of with Stevie's series-filters), volde will kill you with options and variety (in one filter) like no one this side of Zephos or any of the other top 5. Anyways, enough butt-kissing ha-ha, but you and redcap for sure I've noticed (I can't keep up with everyone, sheesh) are just nailing lots of fairly obvious ideas that we all shoulda had already. The closest to normal I seem to get, is a couple of weird frames, and maybe the pixel-ish stuff, and those are pretty basic really. Anyways, I look forward to checking out the new improved bubbles, and don't tell volde I said he was over the top, believe it or not, I don't want to discourage him, the guy makes insanely wild stuff, and we gotta have that too.

Thanks StevieJ, ScaryKitty and Carl,
The improvements really helped. It has been suggested that the suds could be used the clean the generate grunge filter.
I made the changes in a singe setting except for one break brought on by a cow farting into my air conditioner. She must have had a real rectum lock on the vent because the kittens mistakenly thought they were under attack. @ronviers

Ron, If I may make a humble Plebian suggestion.....try plugging in my "SpectralTint" or "SpectralGlow" filter into this one for a color irridescence film......I think you might like it......maybe for another version of it, eh??? Steve

Try "Mad Scientist" experimentation with different blend modes, maximizing opacity to 100 on some of them, and maybe even using multiple layered blends to get it. You should be able to get it with one blend component.....but I may be wrong about that and may take a little more since you want it to "adhere" to the relief surface of the bubbles..... Steve

Hey, I just downloaded it, and it's looking like you have several of the lightings set to *Entrance Night*, at 100 brightness and 100 saturation, which is giving everything a gold/bronze kind of look. Dropping the saturation waayyy down, and bringing the brightness up. Below is your first preset, just set to Brightness - 375, and Saturation - 10, Surface Height still at 20, and nothing else changed. Anyways, not at all sure if you wanted a "cleaner" look, or if the golden hue is there on purpose, just saying in case you wanted to tame it some.

It seemed a bit slow to render, so I looked inside for a second, and the Cells *Details* are set at 100, but *Roughness* is at 0, so details is doing nothing and can be set to 0 to speed up rendering a bit. Same for the Noise Distortion component. And on one of the Gamma's there's a stray Invert module going nowhere, but that won't add to render time, so no big deal, it's just kind of dangling there ha-ha.

Ok jffe I made the changes - reconfigured noise components for better performance, adjusted lighting and presets for more pleasant appearance and corrected soapy film variation control - and submitted the update. I ended up leaving the dangling gamma invert - even though it should be removed when it came time to delete it I couldn't. Even though my eyes tell me not to use it as a specstrength map my intuition keeps telling me that I should. I have a lot of dissonance about that component, I must have plugged and unplugged it two dozen times, so I will let it dangle.
Thanks again
Now off to try to add iridescence again. @ronviers

Ron, another idea would be to use cells to create suds on a horizontal plane something like this.....which I guarrantee would go 'High Usage' very quickly..... Steve

I think that is a great idea! I have been contemplating using the reposition rays snippet to add a user defined suds locus. The idea being that the origin of the rays could be used to define the origin of a spread pattern.
Thanks for the suggestion.
BTW, everyone should ignore the next update. I already have another one but FF does not allow me to place more than one in the queue so the old new one will have to clear.

LOL, yes of course it is safe! I mean no, it's not safe; there will be another one out tomorrow. You may want to get this one too though because in tomorrow’s version several of the controls have been eliminated. Plus this one is probably faster because it uses only one size of bubbles whereas in the next one I added another size. I also added the ability to taper the bubbles from top to bottom. This will be the last release for a while, I am all bubbled out. @ronviers

Hey Persidio - about the new presets, I would guess any presets that have the background would have the least probability of being useful to the designer; would you agree?

----I realize I wasn't asked specifically there, but I would say 50/50 seems reasonable. Some people will work one way, some another, I would think anyways. And +1 for all filters having 20 presets, unless they are just one trick pony filters, in which case, they probably don't have 20 different looks they can do.
