No trade~ And you better be talking about the horse... smile:D

Abe isn't ours he's a school horse. Wonderful horse farm. They use retired show horses for the school horses... even have one horse that was used in the movies... trying to remember the name of the movie.

Now Abe is a big horse, doesn't look so big in this pic.

The funniest part about Abe is that he kept falling asleep while waiting for his turn to go in the ring.

I'll see if I can't find a pic of the farm dog (for the horse farm) that your dog reminds me of...

No I want the little girl. This really is a *very* good dog. He is not as old as the girl so it would be a bargain for you. What do you say? I could even throw in a kitten.

Well I was looking for a photo of the dog... but I did find this one where Christine is getting lessons. I think there are 350 acres of trails. Her trainer is from Argentina and a world class rider from what I understand.

She needs to start back lessons again but we can't afford it right now.

This is Abe in the photo and shows better how big this horse is.

Ok ahimsa I have them ready. I removed blemishes, localized sharpening on the eyes and face, curves and embedded an Adobe RGB profile. Since they have been sharpened at this resolution you should probably print them without interpolation. I hope you like them. Here is the link to the album. You can click on the download image link to the right of the preview to get the full size files.

I am downloading Poser6 trial! Since I have dial up it will take all day. I may have to restart several times but I will get it. smile:D I was reading up on it and it appears to be for humans only - not pterodactyls. smile:( So I guess I will have to think of a human to do - Maybe Uma Thurman or Jessica Alba. Maybe I should work on a fantasy girl. smile:?: I will see once it gets here. It would be nice if you could start too but I know how busy you are with filters and real life.

I read this wrong on first read... LOL... bust out laughing and realized you meant what it renders and not who uses it. smile:D

For humans only works good for me~

LOL

Hey... you have a download link for the demo?

You are right I am super busy this week... Mom is back from her trip... which adds to an already tight schedule... as you know I'm not caught up on email even... running slow on everything. Then last night I stayed up all night to make a new filter (Colored Pencil Drawing... has been sent off to the library). Stayed up till 5 am working on it.. loaded too slow ,,, got sent back,, fixed it... made it even more pretty as well... then sent it back with it's new lightening fast speed around 11 this morning or so.

I vote for Thurman by the way. You'll have to get her eyes just right .. she really has the most amazing eyes.

And remember when you get to making cloths that I have fabric filters.. smile:D

LMAO!

I think pterodactyls would run through a lot of keyboards - plus their choice in output might be limited. They might be great a doing individual parts of humans though - severed legs, headless torsos... smile:D

A shocker but it seems that Photoshop, Illustrator and Filter Forge have done a very good job of preparing me for Poser and Maya. So far I have been able to understand everything they are talking about. So many of the concepts introduced in PS, AI and FF were totally new but they transfer totally to 3D. I would say that the path of bitmaps via PS, vectors via AI and image processing via FF is the perfect way to get to 3D. I'm not saying it will be easy, of course not, but I feel very comfortable with everything they are talking about so far. This is going to be great! smile:D

I want to throw in Image Ready into that list because even though it is not robust animation software I am finding a lot of the concepts introduced to me there are all going to be used.

Ok, here’s the deal. I took a look at Poser’s demo and not only is it limited to thirty days but most of the features are disabled. So I have scrapped that and I am now downloading Maya’s PLE (Personal Learning Edition) which is watermarked but unlimited in time. I guess Maya it is. It is twice as long as Poser so it will be quite a while before it downloads.

Here is the link to Maya's PLE if you want to take a look.

http://www.daz3d.com/

Is Free

Reading and thinking about the above link. Watched a movie with Revelation (Eagle One),,, then came back here and have been researching 3D programs for 30 min.

Looks good, just making sure it's the right 3D program for me. I might as well try it hey?

Oh and you are right, once you've used sereval graphics programs for a length of time you understand the concepts, techinques, and similar file names. Much harder for someone brand new to graphics. (((Not saying this is going to be a cake walk, LOL.. I'm sure I'll feel like taking a sledge hammer to my PC a few times. smile:D I know I felt that way 10 years ago when I started learning graphics. Havn't felt it since then,,, but I realize that by hanging in there and studying it will eventually come. Besides I luv learning new things.

So... here goes... going to download both,,, the free Daz studio... from what I understand that is free... no trail... no demo, and the demo above this post. In fact I think Lynn had mentioned it when she was offering advice... trying to remember.

Okay,,, I'm stalling.. LOL.. off to download... smile:D

ILM uses Maya but more importantly there is a Maya shop only 120 miles from where I live and where I live 120 miles is just down the street. I was going to do Maya after Poser anyway because it may be my ticket out of here. I think Daz is the way to go too and I will download it after Maya finishes. The Maya download is 15 hours and I will probably have to restart at least a couple of times so it could be a couple of days before I get it. If I can develop some kind of online gallery like I have with FF, and I can maintain a very rigorous stretching routine, I may be able to get that Maya shop to find a place for me. This is going to be a busy and painful next few months.

Hi!

Ron, thank you very much for the kittens; just downloaded them. smile:D

Poser does do dinosaurs and all sorts of animals, but you have to buy the models. DAZ gives a free model every week, plus there are other sites with free downloads. DAZ has great sales on their models, especially for Platinum Club members. Rawn Art also has a couple of dinosaurs at his site for sale, I think. He does zombies too. smile:D

DAZ Studio uses Poser models and stuff. Basically DAZ Studio does away with the need to buy Poser.

Yes it's free and make sure you download that starter package with all the models in it. The model package is only free for a short time...DAZ Studio is always free.

Ouch on the redownload. Are you using DAP? That is the one I used to use on dialup.

You can learn how to make models with Maya I think, but you are looking at a steep learning curve. Model making isn't easy.

No - if it fails again I will look into that. It has worked out for the best though, I bought a high capacity water heater more than a month ago but have not had time to install it - I am working on that today. It is now 8hrs in to the 14hr download. So sometime around midnight I hope to get started.

I don't mind learning curves and without knowing what I'm talking about I would say that I would rather work with my own models but I will just have to wait and see. The Maya shop may be more interested in hiring someone able to make models since they are difficult.

Thanks for the valuable info.

I think you could do well at it and if I could make my own models. It bugs me sometimes that so many people have the same models as me and that many people can recognize who made the model. Think about it...you spend a month making a picture and when you display it all people can see is that you used a Stonemason model or a Faveral model. Hey people, what about all the work I did? Yeah, it's really nice how you used Stonemason's model... smile:( smile:D

Good! You will probably do really well with this. I like the idea that Maya is down the road from you (120 miles) and you could eventually end up working there.

You're like me, if I head up to the mountains, is just up the road apiece.

It could be the ticket to putting my life back together again. I am the polar opposite of Persidio who hates to socialize. If I could I would go out every single day; either to a concert, a show, a gallery, the zoo, the mall, eating, the movies, even the airport. It’s not that I want to go talk to people, although I like that a lot, but I like being where things are happening - or even just drinking a beer on the sidewalk of an outdoor restaurant. This country living sucks for me. smile:D I think Maya and my pure dumb stubborn devotion to my physical therapy may be my way out of this hell hole. I will give it everything I have. smile:)

The dog's name isn't Two Bears, that is my son's other name. I call my son by both his names, but Two Bears is my favorite. The dog is named after an object he resembles.

When I was on dial up I always used DAP; it worked best for me.
