I've rebuilt this filter with Loop. Quite an interesting exercise.
The speed comparison is also encouraging: It appears that loops add very little rendering overhead. One drawback: I cannot change the Noise Distortion variation via the Loop, so any presets using Stack Chaos will look slightly different. Anyway, here's the speed comparison filter for those interested (Note the OLD FILTER toggle at the end of the controls list): Pixel Scapeâ„¢ OLD_NEW Comparison.ffxml --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Filter updated:
- Rebuilt for FF4 with a loop-based architecture. - Supports up to 1000 layers now. - Faster rendering (using Threshold instead of Blend). - LEGACY MODE (uses Blend) introduced to retain Height Fade effect. - Control renaming/cleanup. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Yes, loops are very elegant.
![]() ![]() Easy to maintain. Easy to remap. Much better than the old way, where I had to mass-duplicate component chains, then mass-remap their control-inputs, with specific value ranges for each component. A nightmare. Ah, the sweetness. The flexibility! ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |
