The default preset? Hmmmmm... I'll have to test it and get some benchmarks for you. Depends on the size of the image and the dpi density. Something for the web at 72dpi is incredibly quick, I did something at 1600x1200 in 72dpi and it was about a minute! Another texture I did at 1024x1024 at 300dpi took several minutes but I didn't pay super close attention, those moments I use to take the dog out and let FF run. It's usually done in the time it takes to get the dog out for a splash & dash.

Noways they have them set up you pick the style and away you go and its very easy to upload the zip files and previews for you products.Zen cart is hard, but Xcart is a breeze, you should ask and I like the lifetime upgrade.

The standard 600x600 lifesaver pic renders with "Thrash" (first default filter) in just under 11 seconds.

YES, this is a very well done and great filter that it gives a very good beautiful rusted effect.
I have another name for this filter "Rusting Alchemy time machine" Why? Because it converts anything to metal and then it accelerates the time it takes to be rusted and aged and brings you to the final moment when is it already derelict and rusted ![]() |

Carl, is/was there a version of "Derelict" floating around that didn't have the orange-ish tint? One that just basically applies the rust & grunge without adding/overriding color.

because of the way it was originally built, I've added 2 colour controls, set them to white and use the tint slider and gives you the result above ....... you can now make tint what ever colour you like ....... here is the filter, I'll upload to library as well .....

Whoohoo! You're the BEST Carl! If you weren't making filters, I probably wouldn't have a need for FF. Thank you! As always, I'm always available as a filter guinea pig for test trials... just drop me a line.
![]() Now I wouldn't ask for that filter without letting you see the fruits of the labor! These get printed onto European oval stickers, poly vinyl, water proof, UV proof for snowboards/skis/Jeeps... whoever. Filter Forge (and artists like Carl) allow me to push boundaries of graphic design that nobody has gone to before. Thank you! ![]() ![]() This is ULTRA tasty... for a 2D image it sure has some texxxxx-ture. |

Cool, people like you made it worth putting filters in the library and you always skillfully create your own art with tools of filters, very few ever give any feed back and usage. Haven't had any time to make any new filters lately, been really busy, got my art up on another site now as well, see what you think Artflake

Nice stuff, you have a great control of colors. I'm a very visual person and if colors don't blend, my eyes offend. I also didn't know you were in Australia! Down Melbourne way as well, good old "Mad Max" country!
![]() Are you looking for any other sites to sell your work on? Places like Zazzle have worked wonders for me and my stuff. I can see your stuff on all of the stationery they have plus things like iPad covers, art does well. Speaking of iPad covers, one of my best sellers is a shameless use of one of your filters... an oldie but a goodie. I get many comments like "How the HELL did you do THAT?" Bubble Goo iPad Case Nothing to it! If you have the right filters to create things with. Told ya I live on these filters, you can just about make a living on the output. ![]() |

Many of Carl's filters are the kind where I say "I will find a use for that" rather than "I can't use that".

forgotten how frustrating FF forum can be when you write something and you get logged out.
try again ![]() LOL that is an old filter from FF1, great you use it productively and successfully ...... had a look at the rest of your work, excellent graphics no wonder you do well ...... do you do much advertising/promoting or do people just find your work on Zazzle, or have you built up a big fan base that repeat orders. Are you on redbubble as well. Love colour, can be extremely powerful at affecting the brain by instigating emotional response ..... I like you find poor colour combination and choice jarring and ugly, .... gives me a laugh there is one author here [ who I won't name ] who has the ego to believe he is a colour genius, so he has pointed out, in reality, either ugly garish or insipid, often using raw process colours that clash. Yeah I'm an Aussie, moved away from melbourne live in the bush now with nature all around, the beauty of the internet and being able to send electronic files anywhere, I can get things printed in the big cities and sent directly to the galleries all the while watching a roo jump pass the window.I'm guess your from the US, coastal somewhere like california? Hey Aaron, you have been another great supporters of authors here, hope the game world is going well for you. |

Dead giveaway you weren't in the US is the use of "colour"
![]() Yeah, Zazzle (and Cafepress) where I sell things is a fun hobby of mine. I did over $40K gross sales from Nov 1 to Jan 31, a good quarter for me. I averaged about 18.5% commission so you do the math. Little advertising on my part except for my newsletter that people can subscribe to. I post in new stuff and things that are a different direction. Started making oval stickers because I couldn't find any good ones to buy to put on my new snowboard. I left them out there for public consumption and they took off. So I did a few shirts and they sold. On and on... Now on Zazzle alone I have 20,000+ items. Good for a hobby. Never had any art school training. Taught myself Photoshop and Illustrator. The internet is amazing, if you use it right. A wonderful tool for those inclined. No, I'm not in Cali but I am in the US, smack dab toward the center of North America in South Dakota, land of Mount Rushmore. |

Boxes of these in 4 color varieties are heading to a vendor for the big Jeep event at Moab in May.... A full metallic textured plate overlaid with a layer run through "Derelict" filter and some photoreal Allen bolts added for good measure.
