Try to play with those 2 minimums setting, the end and also the start, and why not the offsets and origin settings, maybe this will fix a bit you image. That is what I was trying to tell you when this image above came to me when I was saving my post

![]() This happens when you are modifying your post BUT another user has posted a new post in the same thread so YOUR OWN post becomes locked instantly after the other user has posted and so is right that you CAN´t change anymore that post. |

Thanks for the info. We are posting at the same time. I want to let you know that I did not put limit on the distortion 0 to 100 because at 100 you can get a full sceen image. And for the mortar width, you must play with those 2 min settings.

Love the last image, it is more centered. Good work Spaceray. As I'm a curious woman, I wonder what is your name. In Spain, they have beautiful names.

This filter's simple but it works!! Very nice!
I think there are a couple things to be addressed. In this case it's highly suggestible to remap your sliders. You basically have values here that go overboard sometimes resulting in highly unexpected outcomes and/or broken results which is generally undesirable. If you also remap your sliders it will enable further exploration of the filter through the "next variant" button since values won't go jumping everywhere. One thing to keep in mind while applying remap values is to make sure the user has enough leg room to get what he or she wants. Also, name each slider with something more inspiring... you can get creative with that really and it makes the filter more fun to use than just f-variance, a-variance, distortion. You can name them "waviness" or "flutter" or some word that inspires a user to try different things out. Of course, make sure you pick the right words that correspond to what the slider does. Lastly, you can probably knock out some of those sliders and keep it to a couple. You can always just apply the same slider to multiple attributes which also helps control the final result to something manageable. Often filter authors will attempt to go control-freak mode on the number of sliders so some filters do have at least 40 or 50 sliders and value boxes! I feel as though a well designed filter won't need more than 20 sliders. That usually makes it easier for you to figure which sliders do what. See, we're usually concerned with the overall, final output. This filter does have it's own tastes but the filter itself doesn't reflect that art. It's a small consideration that goes long ways. ![]() So yeah that's basically all I have to say ![]() |

Thanks Skybase for thoses welcome suggestions. I appreciate your help.
I agree 100% but there is a problem : english is not my langage and it is a bit hard for me to find right words. That is why I kept the same words on some sliders.
I beleive you. This must came with the time. About the remapping, I have to work on this, but sometime there is a problem : when I want a number between 0 to 100, example : I do not want 0 to 10, but just 11 to 40, it is not possible because this starts at 0. Easy to stop at 40 but the undesired 0 to 10, what we can do for this ? visit https://gisoft.ca |

Well, my real name is Claudio. From what I know is Italian and not Spanish, as my grandmother is Italian, and came to Spain when she had 30 years.
I agree with your comments and are good suggestions and like the idea of adding the remapping of the settings, and also with the comment of better words for the settings
I think that perhaps we could help you to choose good and more useful and intuitive words for the settings and you can modify them in your filter if others also agree with this. I think that your main language is French, and probably you are from France. I know it because of what I found in the presets file error, am I wrong ? ![]() |

Love your last examples. Claudio in french is Claude. You have a beautiful name. I prefer Claudio to Spaceray. And also more short and easy to type on my keybord LOL
I'm on the other side of the Atlantic, French Canadian. When I work on my pc during the evening, I hear you snore LOL. And when you wake up the morning, you must also hear me snore. So good night ! ![]() When I need help, usually I use google translate... this for my long texts. But I like the idea for finding help on the forum when it is the time to put words on some controls. visit https://gisoft.ca |
