Well I am not a fan of Nebraska and less of a fan of Iowa... besides I am not from here... LOL... I've lived all over the U.S. and am from the west coast. We moved up here 8 years ago and bought a house. (Husbands job moved us here). We moved up from Texas... I'm not from Texas either however my father is.

Iowa doesn't even come close to Washington state... the state you are in is... (((YOUZA)))). Unless of course you live in Rainer's future lahare' (sp?) path... then... not so good...

I left Nebraska after my son died and came here. I grew up mainly in Germany and NJ. Been to 39 of the states, bothe ends of Canada, and of course all over germany. Living in one place feels very strange.

Similar story here but I have a self rule that I don't travel out of the states... (U.S. Virgin Islands (technicallity)... okay... LOL... exceptions have to be made and I luv it so much there I thought about staying for a few years as a passing thought while on vacation when I was in my 20's)

Seriously ... though.. I've lived all over the U.S. so when people ask where I am from I usually say... 'U.S.' and leave it at that because it takes too long to explain. LOL

You moved to a great state~ Good choice~ smile:D Have to ask you... Do you speak German? Because I don't and ... was wondering... I know you are not into music... but... I have an Internation Love and Loss playlist I need to add more German songs too and... it's hard to get interprations... I don't want to ask my Mom because of her health (long story another time)...

I had to stop speaking German because the teachers couldn't understand me and over the years I've lost most of the German. I can speak in simple sentences, but that's about it. Hans is supposed to be teaching me German, but he is enjoying learning American better. Men!

Ran around Arizona as a kid when the Aircrane was setting towers... luv Arizona... and luved following Dad out 'in the field'... the Aircrane was always in remote areas... luved the Petrified Forest... caves... hiking ect in Arizona... was so hot there my skin cracked.

Oregon... One of my fav states... went to highschool there. My email is rogue_river@hotmail.com (((Rogue River... my fav river and I used to swing off a rope under a bridge near Gold Hill... climb up the rocks ... grab the rope... and let go at the highest point into the water)))... also slid down my but on easy rapids... a calmer part of the river... as I am aware of Rogue Rivers reputation... believe the river was used in the movie deliverence.

Crater Lake is amazing!!! My high school was 'Crater High' named after Crater Lake.

yep,, Oregon,,, my old stomping grounds... LOL...

Hi Ron~ Read the thread... I was born in San Francisco... it's was home base for me growing up since we moved so much and my Grandparents lived there. ((I'd always come back to home base)). When Dad was in Nam I lived with my Grandparents.... Grandma died a few years ago... and the house I was brought home from the hospital to was sold... Born at the Presidio of San Francisco... now a National Park and the base hospital torn down. It's actually very rare to find someone born on the Presidio. Whenever I go back to the city I am welcomed by the locals... LOL. In fact my whole family has very strong ties to the city... long story perhaps better for email or chat... ((seriously read this thread if you want to know more... it's either in this thread or my Abalone thred))((think the info is in this thread... I could be wrong))

Yes I am in Nebraska... I have lived on both coasts... many of the southern states and now the heartland... LOL...

Jealous... LOL... everyone is always jealous of me... never figured that one out... maybe it is my ties to the city... I don't know... I think it's because I apply myself to whatever I do... and put lots of elbow grease, sweat and thought into what I'm doing... I don't know... I'll let you know when I figure it out one day. But yes I've caught jealousy from others all my life.

Oklahoma is full and rich with Cherokee history... in fact I see you mentioned the word 'redneck' earlier... you know that word stems from the Cherokee's mixing into the whiter race... hence the term 'Redneck'. Texas also has quite a few Cherokee/White mixes... hence the term 'Redneck' for Texas... You'd have to know Cherokee history to understand how and why this happened... too long for a post.. the history is wonderful though if you feel like reading up on it.

San Francisco.. yes it was nice living there. City of my birth... city of my heart... when my older brother got out of the service he drove a cab in the city for years... LOL... I have family in Petaluma right now (across the bridge) and my uncle goes to the city every year to help out with camp royaneh (boy scouts).

When you drive across the bridge away from the city you'll see a large grove of trees... my uncle helped plant those with one of his city projects.

My uncle and big brother were helping in the aftermath of the quake in 89~ ... My Grandma was alive then and our family was in a panic because we could not reach her or any family in the city... she and her house were fine though... housing is expensive in the area... they bought the house in 69 for 70,000... when she died it sold for 330,000.00... Too exspensive to live there now. It was always nice going back to the city and living with Grandma... Grandpa passed away in 72.. so she was alone in the city when we were not living with her... she liked it. LOL And so did we.

Anyway,,, grandma and her house survied the quake without a scratch. And she was near the cliff's too... I used to climb the chain link fence and climb part way down the cliff's to sit as a child.. I loved the view... also remember walking to the bus stop and having trouble seeing my feet with the fog layer.. LOL. Playing on the beach... playing at the fun house (since torn down)... and as an adult returning to the city and visitng wtih Grandma.

Maybe I will take some photos of photos for you and put a few up...

Well I better jump out of these threads now... have filters to make a yard to take care of... BBL
