Thanks both Gigi and Morgan .... This filter is really simple and has some rough edges, but filters of both of you inspired the way I overlaid the images. I was following the little tutorial hint that Gigi had in another thread and as usual my ADD sent me off in all different directions when I set one of the sliders wrong and I said: "Boy that looks interesting. What if I rotated it and overlaid an image kinda like Morgan did in his one filter. Hey, thats cool ....." Well you don't really want to know how strange my thought process gets. This filters came real quick and it makes texture backgrounds .... Win win .....
Like many filters it looks better with other images than the built-ins. These include one from Gigi's cool texture maker ..... ![]() |

This is a GREAT concept but I find that it very difficult to use a background that isn't seamless! If only THIS one was capabale of that....

fractalartist1 ... Sorry but the effect cannot be made to tile seamlessly ... one problem in FF is that some nodes will not produce seamless tiles ... This filter depends on the rotate node which will not seamless tile ... I use backgrounds in much of my work, so I thought this one might be useful for some folks ..... Thanks for checking it out .....

Nice examples SpaceRay .... thanks for checking it out ....
fracalartist1 .... Today I uploaded a version 2 of this filter ... It is not exactly the same filter because I had to make some changes that affected the way it works. It uses a flip node instead of a rotate node. The images will not overlay the same, but this version will tile seamlessly. Hope thet might be helpful. |
