I was walking on the street and I have past a jewelry shop that among many other things they make this kind of chrome plating on things you bring to them, and they have many beautiful examples, and then I wanted to make this in Filter Forge, and there are some available filters but do not get it right, with this one is not perfect, but I like the results and the lighting control gives more realism from my point of view

Although I think that this can be made even better and will see how this could be optimized

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MAC COMPUTERS USERS:

This filter includes a map script component using LUA, and I know that frequently (or mostly always) this kind of LUA scripts have problems and gives errors on Mac computers.

This is not an error from this filter, is from the Filter Forge software, and you must wait until FF Inc. can fix it sometime in the future.

I am sorry that I do not know how to make this filter without the LUA script, if anyone knows how to do it, is free to modify and make it and share it here.

lol one of these days they'll fix it.

I've been planning to upload the workaround versions but I never seem to get the chance. It's what I've been doing with the snow filter you uploaded sometime ago. I just wanted to find a nice way without using LUA. So far ThreeDee's method with the smudge component does a pretty nice job, but I wanted something more solid as the one seen with Hard Shadows script.

Thanks Ghislaine, glad you like it and will be useful for you.

I have tried much to make the presets and settings as more similar to the chrome effect and have tried it with some photos, and if the photo is well choosen you can get good results.

Yes, the same was said last year, and something so very important like this should have been fixed already and is a pity that Mac User has all this problem with this LUA scripts.

Good that you are trying to find a way without LUA for Mac users, although perhaps this could be interesting also for all the users if the way you find could be perhaps made different and could work in another way or give other possible results.
