SpaceRay SpaceRay Posts: 12298 Filters: 35	Good idea and well done filter I like how you can modify the well done heart shape in many way and with all the needed settings except one important that is to be able to change the color of the heart, as as it is now you can ONLY have it in orange and is very easy to add a color control to it

SpaceRay SpaceRay Posts: 12298 Filters: 35	And also would be good if you like that you also click on the checkbox of "allow images" of the color control settings so you could load your own images and photos to fill the heart with textures instead of having only a solid color. And so you could have something like this below. This is your filter, and this is my suggestion, and it is up to you if you decide to modify and update the filter or not.

SpaceRay SpaceRay Posts: 12298 Filters: 35	The one above here is using a transparent background using the File-->New image... and then configure the color to reduce the alpha channel to zero. In this next one I have used a photo texture as background instead (as the texture is loaded in the color control)

SpaceRay SpaceRay Posts: 12298 Filters: 35	Have to say also that the texture loaded in the color control will be fix and so it if you reduce the size of the hearts using the "size, pixels" setting you can also get different results that can look good too and have many hearts textured in different ways To get this one from the example above I have only changed the "size pixels" setting and nothing else.

SpaceRay SpaceRay Posts: 12298 Filters: 35	one last suggestion if you want, would be to add some presets to the filters as it has none now, and I think would be good to show what this filter can do and how the heart can be modified in different ways, but as said already above, this is just a suggestion.

Nebreah2 Nebreah2 Posts: 21 Filters: 5	Thank you for the suggestions Space ray. Your images are really neat, thank you for sharing them with me. I am upgrading the filter also added simple bevel to it. Was going to add a few more things but I have some other filters that I want to put it in first.

I agree that adding more optional features would be also good, like a bevel, or also another suggestion would be to have drop shadow so you could separate it from the background if there is one Here is an example done with the drop shadow I will submit to the library a drop shadow simulator to be able to add this easily to any filter

SpaceRay SpaceRay Posts: 12298 Filters: 35	I have just seen that there is another setting control missing and is the "Radius" because as it is now you canÂ´t resize the heart shape and is always fixed to the edge and also "glued" to the others hearts if you use "size pixels" so it would be good also if you add this additional control

SpaceRay SpaceRay Posts: 12298 Filters: 35	So having the radius setting you can decide if you want to have the hearts all touching together as it shown here Or having the radius setting available, reducing the radius size of the heart you could have also something like this below separating them

Nebreah2 Nebreah2 Posts: 21 Filters: 5	SpaceRay I have added Gradients to the snippet, bevel curves and will be adding some other fun things. I am going to make this new version into a full filter and leave the "Heart Shape" as a snippet. Any more ideas you would like for me to add to it. Have not added a shadow yet but it is in the plans. I do have the snippet upgraded on the color/ image and I am sure Radius... if not then I will add Radius to the snippet. Just waiting for it to get excepted.

If you have changed so much your Heart shape and added so many new things is a good idea to make it a separate filter and keep this simple version alone adding the color control and radius, I agree with you. I have already submitted to the library the shadow snippet so you can add it to your filter, and if you want I can tell you how to add make it optional and do not have it always active.
