Once I learned how to use this I saw what an ingenious little filter it is.

I was confused when the lifesaver image was "hovering" over my picture. That's because you are supposed to replace the image in "settings" with another copy of the image under the filter. Wow, once I did that it worked like a charm.

I love playing with this and am glad I stuck it out to figure out how it works. But you probably need to play a bit in settings to get it right for any given image.

PS. I forgot to mention I did also use the random settings button after I took out the lifesaver image. Then I chose a new color, but it was way too solid for my image to show through. No problem. I played with lighting and contrast to make it more "transparent". The end result was more of an opaque layer over the top, but it looked kind of cool and aged. And I got to use the color I wanted instead of the dark color that is auto generated.
