Hey F B. smile:) I downloaded your filter and had a look see under the hood. I've submitted 190 filters and already your first filter is far more complex and technically sound than anything i've been able to make.Keep making filters like this one and you really could become one of the stars on this site. Congratulations. smile:D smile:D

Hey, I personally think it's not about the complexity, it's more about design! smile;)

Great, cute, adorable and nice filter, like it, and even having more than 10.000 filters, this is something not seen already in this way

And for making this is as the first filter you have made is also worth it and I congratulate you for the idea and how you have done it

Welcome to filter forge and hope to see many more filters from you

one possible suggestion, if you want, is that preset 8 is too flat, and maybe would be good, and I remember the great and well done filter by ThreeDee called Button Image, but of course that I can´t and will not compare you that are making the first filter with ThreeDee that is an excellent and very experienced filter forger

I took a glance at how you structured the filter and noticed there are several areas that can use some optimization. A lot of it is just removing several components which can be done with others already in use. Basically just making the filter compact.

Kinda unfortunate how I'm a bit too busy to actually demonstrate that. So I'll put this note here as a reminder to return to it.

What are you talking about? This filter is a flat 2D image maker. It isn't suppose to simulate a 3D image. There is no shadow or lighting effect on any of the presets, they are all flat. smile:?: That's the way Funny Bunny wanted it to look I'm sure. They look great to me. smile;)

Thank you for bringing up things. You all have valid opinions. smile:)

SpaceRay:
As for the flatness. This is 2d filter, not with goal to simulate 3d look. (I am sure that people can use Filter Forge for flat work as well as simulating 3d smile;)) But if the users of this filter want to improve or change this for their uses they are free to do so, adding shine. smile:) As for me I want a flat look for printing. The thing I could think of adding is flat drop shadow and/or one-color solid white "shine" (Think a curve on the top left corner) but the rotation of the Bomber is making it difficult for me to achieve that. Drop shadow in all directions, nope. smile;)

But again, you are 100% welcome to modify it if you want to use the filter but it is not exactly what you want, that's the good thing with Filter Forge, right? smile;)

Also the thought of making the flowers/stars glossy like those puffy padded stickers, as an option, I did think of that but I did not want to clutter the controls list yet more. smile;)

Skybase: Then about the structure, I am sure you are right about this, I am still a novice. I would however be happy to update the filter in future with improvements. If you have some suggestions, I am open to hear it. Even if it is just by saying "to make these eyes you should use this component instead for that"

Mardar: You got it right. smile;)

I did make more presets than those but I did not realize there were a limit of those (showing here on this page). If I knew I would change the presets to show the ones I like most. smile:) I wonder if I can change presets for the update? Then I will try to limit down the presets a little more carefully.

Thank you all for replying. I am happy my first filter got such response.

Mr. Wilde was being ironic of course and a bit facetious. My point is this. Your going to get a lot of various kinds of advice about your filters.Listening to technical help is definitely important but along with that will come a great many suggestions on how to " Improve " your filters in order to bring them up to the Filter Forge standards of excellence. This kind of advice is largely subjective twaddle from the advisor and can safely be passed on to the round filing cabinet. You've already proven that you know how to make a unique filter. Always keep an eye on your own plans. smile:D

Ok then I understand. Thank you. smile:) (I knew about Oscar Wilde, actor of 19th century, gay at a time when it wasn't really accepted)

I still think people are free to write whatever they want in this thread. Then if I take their advice or not, that's another matter. smile:) So far I think people have been very nice!

Yes indeed, people are very nice and helpful here. smile:) And they are free to write all manner of things. But as i'm sure you know peer pressure can be insidious. So here's all I wanted to say and i'll leave it at that. " Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth. " John F. Kennedy. smile:D

For a first filter this is faaaaantastic!

It would in fact be faaaaantastic even for an experienced developer!

I agree with DJI, you show a very strong mastery of the process right away! Looking forward to your continued work!

If you like face and anthropomorphic filters check out ThreeDee's "Avatar"...and the little fuzzy guy that always shows up on the three-filter preview page if I refresh it often enough, anyone know what he's called?
